Cholesterol..suggestions?

Hello! I am looking for any ideas for good lower cholesterol snacks/recipes....I just got the results in for some blood work and my "bad" cholesterol is borderline high.I need to go back in a few months and get tested again to see if there is any improvement. Though some people in my family tend to run that borderline high number no matter what they eat, I'm going to try keeping an eye on my cholesterol intake.

Would love some suggestions :)

The best thing to do to get your LDL cholesterol lower and HDL higher is to moderately exercise 30 minutes daily (this could be as simple as a walk), eating the good fats (avocado, nuts, vegetable oils, omega-3s, omega-6s, etc), limiting saturated fats to less than 7% of your daily fat goals, and avoid trans fats. This is all based off of the TLC (therapeutic lifestyle change) diet, on average most people see results within 3 months. We just went over this is in my Nutrition in Disease class, hope this helps! :)

ETA: You're absolutely right about the genetics factor though, I'm borderline normal/overweight BMI range and try to eat a balanced diet, stay active, and my cholesterol results came back high at my last exam, but it runs in my family and most everyone on my dad's side has high cholesterol.
