Wanting to be fit in retirement

Hello, here we are starting another new year. Hope this one is good as the last one was.
My name is Carolyn, I will be 65 in March and want to remain healthy.
I was a very very thin 120 and 5'9" before marriage, after 2 kids I gained weight but not bad, maintained most of my life but around 150 to 160, that was fine. But by 2000 I had gained up to 215 pounds, that was my all time high. I have very bad feet, always have, they are extremely flat and of course weight on them is devastating. And with the flat feet it pulls my back out, that and allergies are my main health problems. Even at my age my cholesterol and triglycerides are good and my blood pressure runs around 170 to 175 over 65 to 70, so I'm pretty good. My bone density is excellent, no osteoporosis for me. One other issue is hypoglycemia so that makes me get hungry a lot but I can deal with that as I know what it is.
I do take hormone replacement and have for over 20 years, I do not intend to quit. I do not take vtiamins consistently but am trying to do that.
I am a very active person though not so in winter. In summer I mow and trim 2 acres at our house and acre at a rent house and 6 lake lots. I also put out an 80 X 40 garden and that requires a lot of work, but my husband and I theorize all this keeps me in good condition.
I had lost 40 pounds and kept it off for 7 years. About 2 years ago I took 2 courses of prednisone back to back and was on the weight gain again. I don't believe in dieting I consider it a lifestyle change and I had let my good habits slip away, all that discipline for so many years over a needed drug treatment. But for whatever reason I got up to 199 and that was to to much. I have started to be more careful and am 191.5 right now, so need to continue. I would really like to get to 165 and stay there.
My husband is an example to me. He had gotten up to almost 300 pounds when I was at 215, he lost 100 pounds and has kept most of it off, but he walks daily and eats sparingly to do it. He works overseas so that helps the temptations, no convenience stores on every corner. He is 5'11" and his weight goes up and down 20 pounds or so but he has never gained it back.
Sue Anne our mentally challenged daughter is one of the main reasons I need to be healthy as long as I can and also the fact I can watch her gain or loss mirror mine. She was up to 169.5 at 5'3" that's to much, 7 years ago she was 185, she has kept it off better then me.. I have helped her get to 159.5, I want to help her get to 140, that would be good for her. She is borderline high blood pressure, very sedentary, her bone density shows osteopenia at age 39. She does not like to exercise so I'm trying to help her. Her doctor says her she has little muscle tone. Right now she is fighting frozen shoulder and a ligament that was stretched badly in her knee. She will continue these injuries without weight loss and more exercise. So these are the reasons we need to get back into shape and hope to.
