Hope everyone has a challenging workout planned for today!

Yesterday, I did 90 min yoga, 60 min weights, and a few min on the cybex. Today is elliptical during the Olympics. Hope it's something I like to watch. I noticed when I was watching the swimming on the elliptical, I was going faster. I recorded some mens gymnastics last night, but the VHS tape is rather old, so it may not turn out great.

Happy Workouts!

Today is Back and Chest day for me, plus 45 min on the Elliptical. I had to miss the morning workout because I had to fast for 12 hours for blood work this morning. So I have to fit both body parts into one workout, it kills me I'm in the gym for like 3 and 1/2 hours.

I just finished some Zumba vids on youtube I found. Since Jackeh was raving about them I thought I would try them out. I burned 246 cals in 21 mins. My HR stayed between 155 and 166. Thats much higher than my tae bo, shred and stationary bike! The time went by so fast and it was SO fun!! I may do it more often haha

Ooh, I never even thought to look on YouTube for workout videos - that's a good idea. A lot of people seem to enjoy Zumba so I may have to check it out. One of the YMCAs in town offers classes, but it's not the one nearby so I haven't managed to get over there yet.

My plan for today is just to get to the gym and hit the elliptical hard, and do some stretching. My knee has been a little fussy lately so I think I will put off jogging until later in the week. And I just realized that I forgot my vitamin this morning - better write myself a note to take it when I get home! :grumble:

Oh, and I weighed in this morning, so my official starting weight for the challenge is: 165.6. So ten pounds from there will put me at 155.6 on October 1. That is the weight that the YMCA recommended to me to be at 23% body fat, so I am excited to get there and see how I feel. My ultimate goal is probably more like 145-150, but I expect those last few pounds will take a while. My plan is to get another fitness assessment done in December.

That is the advantage of having the "chart" on the refrigerator - you can check off when you've done each task - works for me anyway.

I dont understand the whole vitamin thing. What vitamins do you guys take and why? How are they important? Oh and do they really make a difference?

Feeling rather bleachky today. (I'm not sure that's the technical term) Just got back from the Dr. and now I have to see a specialist for some more advanced tests. Ugh. The good thing is I was told there is "no great cause for alarm" on any of my bloodwork, but they didn't like the looks of the ultrasound. . .

I'm having a rough time on my lady time (connected to the Dr. story) so today I'm doing a walk for my cardio, and moving my Tuesday weight session to Thursday this week.

    Also, vits and water.

    Happy workouts!:flowerforyou:

Carrie, I take a multivitamin, and do find that when I remember to take it, it helps my energy levels. I just follow the whole theory that I'm probably not getting everything from my diet. I've also noticed that I used to get a lot more cravings when I didn't take it.

Good afternoon all! Today was Turbo Jam again and then I mowed the yard and vacuumed the pool again after I scrubbed the bathroom. Now it's raining AGAIN! We have only had two rain-free days since August 1 and it's getting old very fast!

Tonight I am meeting with my trainer for 60mins. We usually focus on strength training and form.
I'm also going to commit to going to bed early. I think that's also important to a healthy lifestyle.

Well, I can't tear myself away from women's gymnastics, so I might as well post again!

Viviakay, I hope it is nothing serious and that you start feeling better soon.

Carrie - As for vitamins, I have never been good about taking them, but I am hoping that they may help my energy levels, and maybe hair and skin as well. It will be interesting to see if I notice a difference by the end of this challenge.

I flaked and forgot to put my t-shirt and sports bra in my gym bag when I left for work this morning, so I couldn't do the elliptical as I planned. I ended up running and walking around the block instead. I wanted to stop running after one lap (.7 miles), but I kept going and ran 2 laps in about 16 minutes (last week it was 17 minutes). I also squeezed in a walk after lunch.

You all are very inspiring! :flowerforyou:
