Savoury alternative to sweet protein bars?

Not sure if anything like this exists, but I am looking for something in snack form (ability to eat on the go) that packs the same amount of protein as a Quest bar, for example, but is more on the savoury side? I eat Quest bars because they fill me up properly until dinner time but I am not a sweets fan at all and I find that most of them are so sweet they make me feel queasy.
Any protein bars that are more on the salty/sweet side? Or any other suggestions
Thanks!

Beef jerky? Watch the ingredients if you're sensitive to/worried about sodium or some preservatives, but when you're looking at grab-and-go, it's some of the best protein per ounce that you'll find. I also agree that string cheese, etc, might be good.0

ZonePerfect has a line of sweet/salty bars. I love the cashew pretzel. They only have about 15g protein, and they do have 16g of sugar, so they're not as perfect as the name implies.
Dried meat products seem a better choice. There are some turkey sausage sticks packaged with cheese that are 100 calories at Walmart. I'm sure the sodium is through the roof, but they're pretty tasty.0 -
Ahhhh jerky is a fantastic suggestion- would be the perfect snack for a salty & crunchy lovin' gal like me Thanks!0 -

I will have to check both of those out- thanks I don't really care about sodium, which is probably horrible- but you can only obsess over so many things in a day lol !0 -

I would watch the sodium content though0 -
Whoa, those sound good! I have never even heard/seen anything like that- adding it to the list0 -
I carry Ostrim Ostrich and beef jerky snacks in my purse all the time. 80 calories, 15g of protein. Natural is 300g of sodium, which is on the high side, but doesn't blow my day.

I just saw today that Kind bars now come in jalapeno and honey mustard flavors, maybe more.0

Now I want to try... but I'll admit, I'm slightly scared...0 -
I've had the Epic bars. They're pretty good. The lamb is my favorite. I find them to be somewhat sausage like in taste/consistency.0

I don't care about sodium because I care about fat loss, not water weight. However, if you want to control sodium it is easy to make homemade beef jerky.
I start with with thinly sliced bulgogi beef from the freezer section of the Asian grocer. You could also slice up a topside or silverside roast yourself if you buy the meat at a supermarket, or ask the butcher to do it for you on the machine used or cold cuts. Marinate overnight in soy sauce, some chilli paste or other hot sauce, a tablespoon of brown sugar, and garlic powder.
Spread out over a single layer on a baking tray and dehycrate at 50C in a fan assisted oven for about 4 hours. The idea is to dehydrate the meat, not cook it.
Other protein rich, portable snacks I like are:
crabsticks (if you don't mind them be processed)
roast chick peas <http://www.chow.com/recipes/30368-spicy-oven-roasted-chickpeas>
split pea crisps <http://www.ihearexercisewillkillyou.com/2010/06/split-pea-crisps.html>0 -
My oven doesn't have an internal fan I could look into getting a dehydrator though, it might be more economical to make my own
Also- they don't sell Epic bars here in Canada, I'm sad now!0 -

sounds interesting. My go to is meat. If you need convenience jerky is probably the best bet.0 -
