Hi... First of all I have a lot of weight I want to lose. I have lost around 15 lbs. before I started on MFP.
I have PSOS, Type 2 Diabetes and Thyroid issues. I try and stay between 1200-1300 cal. per day and I walk 2-2.5 miles 5x week.
I am having a very very tuff time losing weight and I don't know why.
Any advice.... PLEASE

Can you open your diary?
Do you use a food scale?0 -
well done for losing hte weight
the most likely culprit is inaccurate logging of calories consumed reducing your deficit

Do you weigh all your solid food on a digital scale? Some things in your diary make me think you're inadvertently off on your calories. "Generic" listings are suspect - make sure the calorie #s are right for what you're eating. 1/2 cup frozen corn, 1/2 cup rice a roni - did you weigh this or measure it by cup? Cups are not good for solid food.
I see very little fruits, veggies. For your diabetes, what nutrition goals are you expected to follow? I'm not very informed but I know my brother in law has to watch his carbs, make sure not to consume too many at a time.
Personally I'd be hungry eating as you are. Soup for lunch, few snacks. Not that there is a right vs. wrong - I just feel better when I eat more often so have a bunch of snacks thru the day.0 -
I think there is innacuracy in your log (over the past 7 days) as you are tracking a lot of : packages, servings, bars, cups and fractions of cups, containers
you also don't appear to be logging much in the way of cooking fats(oils butters - pesky 0-cal sprays that arent' actually 0-cal) or fruit - are you just forgetting htem?
please read the links i've shared
if you log everything that you have measured on a scale in grams over a week or two, you will have a better idea of what is going on0 -
Also - you mentioned losing 15 pounds so far (congrats) but also said you're having a hard time losing weight. What was your time frame for the 15? Keep in mind, slow & steady is the way to go. 1-2 pounds a week at most is what you want.0

If you are not losing weight any more then I suggest going down a list of low thyroid symptoms and if you have any other symptoms besides stubborn weight loss, talk to your doctor about getting it rechecked. A change in diet or an increase in activity level can cause you to need an increased dose. If you are testing in the normal range, you might benefit from a T3 med instead of T4 only.0

yes I do weight and measure things. I have a scale I weight the meat on, chicken pork etc... and the other stuff I use a measuring cup.0

I do not have type 2 diabetes but I do have hypothyroidism and for me the worst foods for me are processed foods they stick to me like glue and have a tendency to be really high in calories. The "cleaner" I eat the more weight I see drop off. Now I am not saying that you have to eat clean but I cook from scratch a lot and stopped buying packaged pasta and rice sides. I also notice that I feel better too. I am still guilty of indulging in things I shouldn't but that is life as long as its not everyday.
I am not a coffee drinker so I do not understand that part but my husband says that asking someone to quit coffee or cut down would be like asking them to cut off an arm, but he loves his coffee. It seems that you drink a dunkin donuts coffee everyday which there is nothing wrong with it but when you add the cream and sugar it really adds on the calories that could be spent on something else. They offer skim milk instead of cream. That way you could pack in more veggies to your day. I rather eat my calories than drink them but thats me.
I too have a lot of weight to lose and have tried different things and I hate being hungry it makes me want to binge. Its trial and error what works for one doesn't work for all. You have to find what works for you and what you can stick to and be happy with.0 -
I measure my oats and weight them in a measuring cup...a half cup is supposed to be 40 grams but it can be any where from 38 to about 50. I could be eating 1/4 more per serving without even knowing it (if I weren't weighing that is).0

and the other stuff I use a measuring cup.
this is the likely source of many of your innacuracies - solids should be weighed, there are very many reasons that using cups for solids don't work (density, stack, ...)
