Starting over

I am starting over by keeping track of calories in.- calories out. I used to workout a lot. Lately with the Thyroid & stress I have been very haphazard with exercise( too tired). Eating is better over the last year or so. With a thyroid function problem what I eat is paramount. I have eliminated prepared & refined foods. Mostly lean meats, berries, onions, greens, beans, mushrooms & seeds/nuts. some plain yogurt. Since the weekend I managed to lose 2.70 pounds. I will start my exercise routine again tomorrow.
I turn 59 in May(5). I needed to do something. I'm certainly not getting any younger last time I checked.;)
BTW I also taught myself to knit . Can't munch with knitting needles in my hands. Keeps me occupied . Reading would do that. But I used to eat while I read.

  • Hi there! I have started knitting too. I'm not that good at it, but yeah, it keeps me busy!

    Feel free to add :)

I'll be 50 in the fall. Are you taking anything for your thyroid? I'm on Synthroid since I turned 40.

I was crushed when I realized I hadn't brought my knitting today.;). I'm getting better. But that isn't saying a lot.
I went to an Endocrynologist who helped wean me off any Meds. Things are doing much better now. I've lost over 3 pounds since Sunday. I just have to watch my diet & work out.

Tomorrow I am going on vacation. It's been a while since I've been to the beach for a week. I am down 5.6 pounds in under 3 weeks. Sunday will be 3 weeks. I am hoping to be down 7 pounds or more by Sunday. That will put me at 150. I know I'll be at 152 by tomorrow morning.
