Hi all! I'm a 25 year old woman and looking to lose about 20-25 lbs. I'm currently at about 150 and starting to feel farther and farther away from the real me. I was a very serious competitive swimmer for most of my life. I started when I was 4 and quit when I was 19 (burnt myself out) and since then I guess I've let myself go. I graduated from college in 2008 and decided to go right back. I'm currently enrolled in an accelerated BSN program for nursing. I am getting a 4 year degree in 15 months (I call myself crazy every day) So needless to say, I need all the help I can get and this seems like the perfect place to be. I'm just a few months away from graduation and want to be healthy as I start this next big chapter of my life. I look forward to sharing this experience with all of you! I need some friends on here that'll help me keep my butt in check! :))

Greetings from another swimmer. Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • This is my first time using any sites like this! I hope I can easily follow through with it! I hope to lose about 15-20 pounds. I am heading to the beach in Florida in April...I want to weigh 140 by then! :)

Hi welcome to the site! I'm going back to school too, also for nursing in fall 2012. That's part of the reason I'm here. I figure if I'm going to be working as a nurse I should be the picture of health. Also It would be nice to fit back into my size 8 jeans. So what is your plan to lose weight, will you start swimming again?

  • @Kris- Thanks! Yeah I'm thinkin the same way you are....I need to practice what I preach! Plus, nursing is no easy task. Always on your feet, fast paced....I want to protect myself. Long shifts on your feet, not to mention moving people all the time. Its hard on your back. Tomorrow I'm starting P90X. I will be doing that 6 days a week. I will get in the pool but I won't be doing anything really serious in there. Mostly just for enjoyment and to loosen up when I'm really sore. Healthy eating! Lots of good protein and really healthy complex carbs.

I went to a party with some old high school friends last May. It was a hot day and a few people went in the pool. I love the water, but would have been way to embarrassed to take my shirt off and go in. That was 63.5 lbs ago. I'd go in now, and another 10- 15 lbs and I'll be back to where I should be. I know you can be ready for the beach in Florida by then.
