Microwaving a small potato

Hello Dear Recipe forum readers and contributors,

I had a question on cooking potatoes. I like to microwave a small one in the morning to take for lunch at work. When the potatoes weighed in the 220g range, I could nuke one for seven or eight minutes and they'd come out perfect. Now with the ones that weigh closer to the size advertised on the nutrition label (143g), those are smoldering and hardened within five minutes in the microwave. I could do trial and error but I'm starting to get frustrated and not pack a lunch as often as I once did.

Does someone have this down pat? Could you help me, please?

Yeah, it takes some trial and error. I usually eat small ones, like 110 to 150 grams, and I microwave for three minutes on the low side and four on the high side. Be careful....my SIL just exploded her microwave cooking one too long (she went into another room and forgot it)! But yeah, four minutes max on those puppies.

Could you bake several of them at once instead of microwaving and use one of these???? Maybe try something different for lunch.. Do you take the toppings for your lunch or what do you eat with it. Sorry I could not be of further help..

Thanks, guys! Next stop 3 or 4 minutes.

I eat it with beans. I don't think I would be that tempted by potatoes but I like to make single servings of items so they're not waiting for me in the fridge, ready to be reheated and eaten within a moments notice. I may still try the multi potato approach, though!
