Hello there! I'm new and I'd really like some support.

Hello :) I'm Kayla. I'm new here and I just wanted to reach out to you guys and hope that we can motivate each other? :) haha

A few facts about me is that I'm 18, I'm 5'4-ish and I currently weigh 185 lbs. I swim for my high school's swim team. I've been struggling with my weight since I was in middle school. I have exercise-induced asthma due to me swimming a lot. And I've been struggling with depression due to my weight. At school, I feel like everyone is looking at me and that I'm too heavy to be called an "athlete" but I still consider myself one. I've been trying to lose weight for the past couple of years, but I've never come close to my desired weight. Which is to be 160 lbs. I joined this place because I know that I should start losing some weight now before I gain more because I've noticed that my clothes are starting to become more tighter and I don't feel good about it at all anymore.

So yeah! I really hope that I can continue this and have some support along the way with me :) I look forward to helping you guys as well! haha Thank you so much!! :)

    Welcome aboard!

Athletes come in all shapes and sizes so I wouldn't worry about fitting some kind of 'athlete' requirement.

And honestly, even though it might seem like it, most kids aren't looking at you and thinking about your weight. They're probably looking around worrying that someone else is judging them in some other way.

There is a lot of good resources here as well as a great support network. Just take it a step at a time and you'll reach your 25 lb weight loss before you know it.

hey kayla. i'm new too. i'm about to do an "introduce yourself"
post but i 'm still figuring out what a banana hammock is. read it in the guidelines. also is all if that spam in the
forum?! anyways, i'm in australia. i'm a swimmer too (amateur) so if you report
any swimming times etc in your workout I'll know what you're on about. i 'm mainly using
MFP to track my food but i'll probably post my workout too which will be mainly
swimming and crossfit. i go from eating super healthy to super baaad and my aim
is to be consistent (mainly healthy food).
