buying a barbell set...

For home use, and i was wondering how much kg i should buy?
i could get 35kg or 50kg?

    50kg. You'll "grow" into it.

    Personally, I started off with a broomstick and 4x1.25, 4x 2.5 and 4x5. I later got a 20kg olympicbar and squat rack and later still the 10, 15 then 20s. Doing it this way let me make sure I was going to stick with it before spending a fortune.

    I just had this dilemma and went for the 50kg set and was glad I did, as it's actually not that much weight and buying extra weights separately is far more expensive than just getting it all at once. I think 25kg would have been too little, anyway, and I'm a complete beginner (p.s. I got mine cheap from argos, seem pretty decent, York make their own brand stuff).
