How did I go from three years ago 141 to today 244? I mean did what in the heck was I thinking? How did I let this happen? It's not like it has happened over night but tonight after my work out I looked in the mirror and really saw what had happened to me. But guess what...no more...I can not do this to myself. I need to get back to me. I pray for strength!

Wow! We are on a very similar boat! I over the course of 4 years I went from 155 to 242. Absolutely disgusting! It is truly astonishing to realize how much weight one has put on. But the thing is that I realized that 242 is it. I refuse to let my weight creep up any more. My weight also reminded me of all the risky health issues that I am exposing my body to (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.) I woke up one day in July of 2009 and realized that enough is enough and I got my butt up worked out and since then have been working out 4-5 days a week sometimes 6 days and I am cooking healthier and since July I have lost 40 lbs and still on a mission to loose more. I am just glad I decided to make a change. It is all will power and sheer determination girl. We can do this!
  • Well, you have come to the right place to aid with that strength. I've only been active again for about 5 days, but I've already surprised myself with my fitness goals because of the encouragement on this site!
  • I completely know what you mean about the health concerns. The whole weight ordeal did not arrive until I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in July of 2008. From then on I packed on weight fast, between medication such as steroids, feeling so fatigued I could not bare an real activity and then let's see...eating...thinking its the only thing that can't ruin me, Wrong!!! Now I'm here today  I am lucky to have a strong supporting husband who has been working out twice a day to work out with me and still maintain his our work out schedule.(MY HUSBAND DOES NOT HAVE A POUND TO LOSE AND IS THE MOST HEALTH PERSON I KNOW) He is helping with all the healthy cooking thank God! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU GIRL KEEP ON AT IT BECAUSE I WILL BE BECAUSEFRON HERE ON OUR IT'S OUR CHOICE! TALK TO YOU SOON!!!
  • I have found some great people on the site so far. We just need to get the word out to more people to change and possibly save there lives. Thank you for writing, will update soon!
  • I know how you feel. I was a size 3 when I met my husband and in 3 years time went up to a size 12. Now at a size 16 (And thats not even the biggest I've been) I've maintained staying under 200lb up until my last pregnancy I went over! I'm a short person so weight does not look good on me at all! I've tried a certain diet program a few years ago spent over $600 up front and they wanted me to take so many supplements a day. I just couldn't do that. Another friend of mine that did the same program started losing her hair! Its a shame what we go through! Good luck on your journey may we all stay motivated and start looking and feeling healthier!

P.s somethings that's helping me is drinking a pint of water before I eat, and also eating off a side plate instead of a dinner plate and eating regular I also exercise for 1 hr 5 times a week xx
  • It's amazing how the extra weight can really come as a surprise - it took my boyfriend telling me to stand in front of the mirror and really look at myself to realise how bad I had got. I am determined to reverse this and get back to good health - we can do it! Feel free to add me as a friend and we can keep each other on track
