Friend Updates: Every Time they respond to a thread?

Is there a way to turn that off? I think it is turned off for when I respond to one so it doesn't post to their walls but is there a setting that will turn it off so I don't see everyone else's?

    Unless I am missing something that only controls my updates. So if the friend doesn't have that section updated to not post an update when they reply to a thread there is no way to avoid it.

    Yup, only your own. Just ask them politely to turn it off if it bothers you.

    if you mean in your newsfeed, you go to the homepage, and right above the box you can enter a status, you'll see a tab that says "view: all updates." click on it, and you'll see summary. i think that is what you want.

    I spend a lot of time reading what my friends post, so never had the need for it.
