Lifting

Hi. I am going to start lifting. We have a bench and weights already but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a dvd or youtube video. I am a female and this is my first time lifting, Thanks!

    A simple routine is stronglifts, you might wanna adjust some exercises to start, like the Overhead press (OP) with empty dumbells instead of an empty bar, because that could be a little bit heavy. http://stronglifts.com/5x5/

    It may seem a little intense at the first glance but it's a great beginner routine in my opinion!

    I'm female and I've done Stronglifts, and really enjoyed it. I'm about to start lifting again shortly, and will probably go back to it. It's a simple 5x5 program, and it doesn't take long, but is a killer workout and you see progress in your lifting ability very quickly. There are many out there, I've heard successful MFP members mention one called the Ice Cream 5x5 I think? as well. Being female honestly just means you might be the only one with boobs in the weight room, but doesn't affect your ability to lift heavy or see gains from any lifting program. Just make sure you use good form and you're golden!

    I recommend Chalean Extreme (a beachbody program) It's what got me into lifting in the first place. Great program. I have done it 3 times
