Do I really only burn this much???

I walk/run 7-8 miles per day in 2 hrs. I weigh around 114 lbs, 5'0.
Do I really just burn 350 calories doing that???? (according to all sorts of exercise calculators)

I feel like I'm just waisting time then, I'd rather spend that elsewhere.
And none of those at least I burn 350 calories. Cause I eat MORE THAN 500 calories right after because I'm starving right after it.

Wow, id be thrilled to have 2 hrs every day to devote to exercising.......with that being said I think if you want to be really accurate buy a HRM (I have a polar ft 7). This shows the amount of cals burned based on your heart rate. 350 cals a day of burning cals is great. just keep thinking some people are sitting on the couch feeding their face while you are out pounding the pavement!

Based on you weight, it's probably close.

    I see. thanks.
I thought its a good thing too. i usually squish 30 minutes of walking/running in every break I have, coming down to 2 hrs a day.

I guess I'm better off stopping though, cause it just makes me eat more and get tired more, when I'm already busy as it is.

If you want a close to accurate estimate of how many calories you burn, buy a heart rate monitor.

That's not right, just walking 3mph two hours at your weight burns 450. Running 45 minutes at 5mph burns 350. Where did you get 350 from? It depends on how much you run, how much you walk, and about how fast. Try this calculator. http://www.healthstatus.com/perl/reload.pl

    Hi

Its a walk and a run together, from 3.5mph - 7mph. I know through google maps/treadmill mile count, that I run around 7mph. and every calculator I go to having run that much keeps saying I only burn 350 calories.

The amount I see myself eating(when i'm exercising) is twice i could be losing by dieting alone if that was the case

I was lead to believe by our treadmill that I burn 200 calories having run 2.5 miles in 30 minutes, I do that 3 times a day. Guess that was all a myth :/

Caloric deficit is for weight loss ... exercise for fitness. If you choose to quit exercising, the only one you hurt is yourself.

Running results in about twice the net caloric burn (exercise only not inclusive of BMR) per mile than walking on average.

The less you weigh, the less calories you'll burn doing any activity, including walking or running. If you're only exercising to burn calories, you might want to rethink that. Exercise is beneficial in so many other ways, so you'd be better off sticking with it. Instead of devoting 2 hours a day, maybe just go for a half hour or hour. You'll burn less but will still gain the other benefits of exercise. Also, have you considered weight training instead of or in addition to cardio? You will burn a good amount of calories, but remember that your body will burn more calories as you build up muscle.
