The Burpee

Is there anyone out there that actually enjoys doing them and if so, how many do you incorporate in your workout?

  • I incorporate them into my HIIT training workouts. Typically I do as many as I can in a 30 second burst and mix them in with mountain climbers, power squats, and other activities for a 30 min workout total. Go through the the rotation of several different circuits of these with some weight training exercises and it is a pretty good workout. And no I don't enjoy them :)

I also do them during HIIT training. It's not how many, but how many I can do in a set amount of time. Then you go on to something else and before you know, it's time for Burpees again. And yer like..."I can't believe it's time to do these again," and you do as many as you can with vim and vigor.

This makes since. My 35 minute aerobic workout (consisting of mountain climbers, squat jacks, plank jumping jacks, running in place and so on) are in 60 second intervals. Maybe I'll do 40 seconds for each inn 2 or more sets and the Burmese won't seem so bad
