Newbie from Central Illinois - Female

I'm really wanting to get this!

OK... I've been using MFP for about a month now. I started out very well, but I am trending into more calories. Thankfully I am being honest with myself and documenting EVERYTHING! :)

My name is Ann and I am 53 y/o. My BMI is about 49 and I have nearly 200# to lose.

I don't have diabetes YET and I still have all of MY JOINTS and am able to be active. I've never had cancer or any other major illness... PRAISE GOD!

MY GOALS:
1) To eat a nutrient-dense plant based diet nearly all of the time. Occasional fish/chicken, rare beef or pork.... maintaining average of about 1500 kCal daily.
2) To lose about 190#
3) To be active daily with bicycle or other form of exercise.
4) To prevent diabetes, cancer and overall deterioration that middle age brings to those with poor lifestyles.

P.S.: I started out at 369.3# which is about 19# more than my scale will weigh. I'm getting close to be able to weigh on my 350# scale, but still not there.

*** THAT's my FIRST GOAL -- be able to weigh on my home scale (without buying a new one)

I'm originally from Chicago :) It immediately put a smile on my face when I read the title... I'm am working toward losing a total of 100 pounds but I do not have a specific time as to when I accomplish it. Next summer would be nice :) If you need any friends to help keep you motivated.. I'm your girl :) My calorie goal is around 1200 and my diary is open. Good Luck on your journey and remember one day at a time
  • Thank you RobinKelly...

I am very new to this site. I've been using the app on my phone nearly a month and decided to check it out on my laptop. So forgive me if I can't figure things out. It's cool that you can see that you have lost 15# already. Does my progress show up on your page?

It depends on what you have your settings on. Whenever i weigh in or log any exercise. It posts for my friends to see. It may be an automatic setting but I am not sure. I used to only use the mobile app before but I have found much more motivation logging in from my computer. If you are ever having a "bad" day, look at some success stories. It always cheers me up enough to put down the candy bar lol. If you want an icon at the bottom when you post.. go to the tab APPS and then click tickers. You can customize to your settings :)

I am new here as well! I have about 50 pounds to lose and haven't lost any yet, as I haven't been taking my eating seriously! Feel free to add me. I could definitely use the motivation, and I can motivate as well! We will all be able to reach our goals! Hang in there!

I pray that you lose the pounds needed for a healthier you! I know personally what it is like to "go past the scale limit", makes it very hard to track your progress during the week/month. Good luck and God Bless!
