Calorie Intake Help

I'm going by the calorie intake suggested by the Insanity guide. It just seems like its too much. Says my calorie intake should be 2060. Seems too much for me. I've only been doing Insanity for 2 weeks now & I know I need to be patient before seeing results but I guess I just need reassurance. Hopefully month 2 I will see something.
Please tell me your starting weight, calorie intake at that time, & where you are weight wise now.

Thank you

Yes, you have to give it time. 4-6 weeks. If you haven't lost by then, then you are eating at maintenance and at that point you should drop your calories a little bit for another 4-6 weeks.

Thank you. I just hate having to wait to see what works and what doesn't.
  • Isn't insanity a crazy work out? Of course you need to eat more to compensate for that intense work out

What I do and what I recommend to people is to eat at a calorie level that allows you to drop 1-2 lbs/week. This assumes an average calorie burn from you getting in all of your workouts. This will be different for everyone, so you'll have to do some trial and error to figure it out. I'd start ~1600 cal/day. Hit this goal, along with your macros and getting in your workouts, for a week. If you lose 1-2 lbs, you're good to go. If you lose too much, increase your intake and repeat. If you don't lose enough, reduce your intake a bit and repeat. After a few weeks, you'll figure out what works for you in your situation.
