Hi, I am a 30 year old female. I am 5'6" and weight 202. I am eating net 1200 calories a day and have been doing realy well sticking to this. I am doing the 30 day shred & walking for 40 minutes every morning and going for a about a 30 minute walk in the afternoons. The problem I am having is that I haven't lost any weight for 2 weeks even though I haven't been cheating or over eating. I don't do well with any specific kind of diet or cutting certain foods out, so I am just trying to eat smaller portions of normal meals (this has worked well for me in the past). I have been doing this for about 7 weeks and have only lost 7 pounds so far. Any advice/help would really be appriecated.

Would you mind opening up your food diary so we can take a look? Maybe you just need a few tweaks.

    are you eating enough calories?

too much salt? will keep you retaining water,

    Enough water?

    Change your exercise up ?

Just a few suggestions - obviously I don't have the answers I am struggling too.

But I know for a fact that I was not eating enough calories - there is a not at the bottom of your food tracking that tell you.

    Hi,
Are you tracking your food honestly? Also, what are your macros? Optimizing this can help get the scale moving. I will also say that 1200 cal/day may not be enough for you to lose weight. You might need to bump it up to 1300-1400 cal/day.

Check out this blog a buddy of mine wrote on this subject.

I believe that my food journal is available for public view (otherwise I am not sure how I change it). I am not thinking about giving up but I just don't know what to change/do. The 1200 calories is what MFP recommended for me when I entered my information in (I have a desk job).

Without seeing your food diary, it's really hard to tell. Generally, high sodium intake will contribute to water retention, which will skew your scales. High carbs was also an issue for me too. 1200 may be too little for you, though. I'm 5'2" and try to get around 1400 calories- that was enough to prevent me from feeling lightheaded but still keep me losing weight. In fact, I've noticed that when I upped it, I lost weight faster. You may want to try 1400-1500 cal/day. Also make sure what you are logging is accurate. It's crazy the discrepancies there are over serving size. For example, a serving size of "1 bagel" could be as little as 100 calories or as much as 450- and the label on the package isn't always 100% accurate.

7 lbs in 7 weeks is good, though- a loss is a loss!

MFP defaults are almost always wrong. I have a desk job too, but I also hit the gym 3-5 days a week (and you exercise), so that makes neither of us sedentary. The next thing that determines MFP's goal is what loss per week you enter, but that's a little silly. I only had 30 lbs to lose (and I'm now within a healthy weight range anyway), so trying for 2lbs/week for me is a little unrealistic (even though 2 lbs/week would be AWESOME!). But, MFP would till try to calculate that if I told it to. Again, a loss is a loss- 1lb/week is great!

The thing that really helped me up my weight loss was finding my BMR then eating about that (and not eating back exercise calories). According to the info you posted, your BMR is around 1700. If you're concerned about eating that much to start, why not try 1500 (and not eat calories back)?

PS: To make diary public, go to settings > Diary Settings > Change "Diary Sharing" to public

Thanks Spara0038, I decided to change my net calories to 1500 and see how that goes. I plan to give it a few weeks and see if this is the jump start that I need. I am also going to look into adding a little more variety into my morning walk.

7 pounds in 7 weeks is great! Keep going! Bump up your calories to at least your TDEE -20% (you can calculate it at http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/). Make sure you are drinking at least 64oz water daily. Watch your sodium intake (try to stay under 2300mg). Don't give up!!
