Jeez, how sweet and supportive some of you guys are.
people are supporting you by helping you not waste your money.

They are both useless. No evidence of either of them doing anything.
" In conclusion, RK prevents and improves obesity and fatty liver. These effects appear to stem from the action of RK in altering the lipid metabolism, or more specifically, in increasing norepinephrine-induced lipolysis in white adipocytes."

There's conflicting studies out there, but here is one supporting raspberry ketones to lose weight. I seemed to have decreased appetite and lost a bit of weight while on them, but, of course this is inconclusive as to whether or not the RK was having a true effect. I'm also not using them any longer.
EDIT:
Instead of asking ppl for personal opinions and experience, why not read the science articles and come to your own conclusions? Go to Google, search "Google scholar", then use your keywords. Very easy and much more informative (and accurate) than ppl's opinions on the matter.
This study is supporting raspberry keytones to reduce weight gain in rodents on a high fat diet. It is not supporting fat loss in humans.
"Another reason rodents are used as models in medical testing is that their genetic, biological and behavior characteristics closely resemble those of humans, and many symptoms of human conditions can be replicated in mice and rats. "Rats and mice are mammals that share many processes with humans and are appropriate for use to answer many research questions," said Jenny Haliski, a representative for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare."

Yeah, I'm not completely stupid, I knew about the search option, and I did that but the very few that came up about taking BOTH at the same time, was just a bunch of people being rude and no one actually answering the question. I guess I should have known it wouldn't be different for me, right?! lol
Listen lady, plenty of people have answered the question. How you chose to interpret it is a different matter.0 -

Do you not understand that for ethical reasons humans are not used in preliminary studies? Also this:

Let me try and clarify.
First, they fed rodents a caloric surplus with a high fat diet. The group of rodents who were overfed with raspberry keytones, gained less weight than the rodents who were overfed w/o the keytones.
I am claiming that this does not indicate the efficacy of raspberry keytones as a WEIGHT LOSS AID in HUMANS.
Secondarily, have you looked at the dosing ranges and considered how this translates to doses in human beings, and compared that to the doses that are typically recommended on the supplement bottle?0 -
Everyone needs to stop ganging up on one person. If you're going to repeat to her what someone else has already said, then keep moving instead of beating a dead horse. A lot of people seem to be hopping on bandwagons for social acceptance. The girl asked a question, it got answered a million times. Unless your answer is unique and different than the ones previously stated than you have nothing to gain by posting. It just makes you look like you're trying to fit in and desperate for attention.
So that's it. Read what has been posted and act like an adult, please. Let's keep this site positive. Ganging up on someone over a question is pointless and unproductive.0 -

The topic was doomed from the start. I think I could make a case that the all the negative responses (subjective assessments of what's positive and negative vary, of course) are the result of this being a topic that's been dealt with in the past. You mention beating the dead horse. The horse was DOA in this case. Everyone's time and energy could have been spared if someone had used the admittedly lackluster search function in the first place.0 -

Yup.
The rats were fed 0.5 - 2 % (by mass of total food intake) raspberry ketones. How many grams of RK would you need to eat to get 2% RK as part of your diet? How much is in one dose of pills?0 -
I take both of those now. I think there's a lot of crap brands out there. The ones I use are made by Nature Wise. I also used Green Coffee Bean when I first started my weight loss journey. Green coffee just hurt my stomach though and when I removed it from my regimen I noticed no loss of the desired affect so I just kept up with Garcinia and RK. Do they magically make you lose weight? Nope. I've lost weight with or without them BUT they do make it easier to be in a deficit...they curb my hunger like nothing else (IF you are drinking the proper amount of water). Not protein, not fat, not complex carbs. I know drinking a lot of water in itself will produce a full feeling but some people can't just chug water...these make you crave water and the full feeling is more satiating than just water alone. It may not work in the way they advertise but they do help control hunger and very well. RK does also keep you "regular". I also regularly monitor my blood ketones and blood glucose and have noticed that my ketones are higher (not because it's raspberry "ketones"...two different kinds of ketones) and if i take the garcinia as directed and have something that might cause a blood sugar spike it is greatly reduced when taking garcinia. Say instead of 160 it might be like 115. Keeping my blood sugar more stable also keeps me from craving. So yes, they do HELP but they won't do it all for you.0

OR Someone could have been helpful to the new member instead of scaring them away when all they did was ask a simple question. Maybe link her to a forum thread that had covered it in the past? Maybe just not respond if you knew your response would be negative towards a completely innocent person? She did nothing wrong. Her MFP experience is probably ruined now, so I hope all the useless bashing was satisfying for those of you who took part in it.0 -

One does not read from the Necronomicon and think to themselves "Hey, I wonder where this Elder God came from?"
To your point, I don't necessarily condone excessive amounts of snark. That said, it might behoove everyone to realize that one person's "Help" is another person's "attack." It's not always the case, of course. Sometimes people really are just mocking other people. But again, everyone over the age of 12 should probably realize that expectations around what is and is not considered "civil behavior" in an online forum are just as diverse as the user base is.0 -

No one scared her away...she's still posting. And I think she's a big girl and actually can take care and stick up for herself. As she has done.
Also...1 million people didn't jump on her. In fact no one did. We just stated obvious facts that it's a waste of money.0 -

Most of the people here who are saying it's a waste of money are trying to also look out for some newbly members who might stumble upon this thread and think that taking this BS will work better than calorie reduction and exercise. They don't, they're just a waste of money. Nobody's saying that you can't waste your money, we're just presenting FACTS for other members to see.
Meh, it's a public forum. If you don't want to hear what other people have to say, don't post.
You're right. I'm not trying to waste my life in front of a computer screen with a bunch of people with nothing but snide remaks0 -

Read the whole thread. Saw no one "bashing" anyone else. Bashing would probably include, for most people, personal attacks, insults, na-na-na-na-boo-boos, stick-your-head-in-doo-doos, etc. These posts simply tried to discourage OP, in no uncertain terms, from wasting her money on something that will not aid her in her weight loss journey.0 -

on that note, whatever happened to the Lolrus? I liked him.0 -
I tend to fall for these gimmicks, even more so when I see it on the Dr. Oz show.

EvanKeel, I understand that it IS a forum, and not everyone is going to be respectful and mature. But of all the places I could have posted I would have figured this one would be different. I thought maybe there would be a little more support and a little less criticism. I think I could make a case that the all the negative responses (subjective assessments of what's positive and negative vary, of course) are the result of this being a topic that's been dealt with in the past. You mention beating the dead horse. The horse was DOA in this case. Everyone's time and energy could have been spared if someone had used the admittedly lackluster search function in the first place.
OR Someone could have been helpful to the new member instead of scaring them away when all they did was ask a simple question. Maybe link her to a forum thread that had covered it in the past? Maybe just not respond if you knew your response would be negative towards a completely innocent person? She did nothing wrong. Her MFP experience is probably ruined now, so I hope all the useless bashing was satisfying for those of you who took part in it.
But again, everyone over the age of 12 should probably realize that expectations around what is and is not considered "civil behavior" in an online forum are just as diverse as the user base is.
EvanKeel, I understand that it IS a forum, and not everyone is going to be respectful and mature. But of all the places I could have posted I would have figured this one would be different. I thought maybe there would be a little more support and a little less criticism. But hey its whatever, now I know to stay off this forum because people don't know how to be friendly, and I'm not looking to make enemies :noway:
Being supportive does not always mean "Yeah! You go get 'em, tiger!" If my friend wanted to go have her pinkie toe surgically removed so that she could fit better in her shoes, I would probably discourage her from doing that. I would tell her that it would be a waste of money, and ask her why she didn't just go exchange the shoes for a different style or a different size. I might even laugh a little bit at the fact that the thought of cutting off her toe even crossed her mind. But, to me, that is still being supportive, because I am encouraging my friend to not go and waste her money on something ridiculous when she can have a better result taking the more sensible path.0 -
I know Raspberry Keytones. I KNOW HER!
She's really nice, very supportive.
No, I don't know Raspberry Ketones, I do know Raspberry Keytones.0 -
They are both useless.

Very easy and much more informative (and accurate) than ppl's opinions on the matter.0 -

So... Your argument is that taking dietary supplements is relatively comparable to having a body part surgically removed for fashion's sake?
These arguments aren't correlating at all. This has become similar to a flock of pigeons all fighting over a piece of bread, and it's disgusting. You're all saying the same thing in different ways. Either say something original that hasn't been said or get off the thread. There is no more need for informal reinforcement at this point. The point you all desperately wanted to make, "SAVE YOUR MONEY," has been clearly communicated.
Now go find something productive to do instead of cyber-bullying on a forum that's made to support each other.0 -

It would seem to me that her point was that "support" isn't necessarily back-patting. Support may involve telling someone that the approach they are taking or the idea they have isn't necessarily a good one.
The forums are for exchanging information.0
