Want to recover from anorexia and get fit, but how?

Today I decided I want to turn away from the anorexia I've been struggling with and start a new healthy life. I'm 4'11 and 89-91 lbs. I want to get lean and healthy but feel that I can't get lean with the time I have. I'm a student, so I'm ALWAYS busy. I get about 40 minutes of gym time a day that I usually use up on the treadmill, then the rest of the day is dedicated to school and work. I just started the squat challenge yesterday, so I'm hoping it will help a little. I just want to know how I can get more fit and healthy. Also, I can't just 360 my life around in one day, it has to be gradual. What do you guys think I should do?

Start by adding about 2 glasses of milk a day to what you are already eating. Anorexia plays havoc on your bones, so to get healthy, eat more calcium rich foods. Also, try to eat a lot of protein because protein helps your muscles get healthy. I would start out at around 1500 calories a day, then up your calories by 100 each week til you reach about 2,000 a day. You need to increase your calories gradually, since you are not used to eating much. Good luck, I hope this helps you!

You just made an awesome decision to change your life for the better! Make an appointment with someone who understands your situation, and develop a solid and gradual plan. Go easy on yourself, take care of you, and notice your thoughts and feelings. Congratulations:)

You made a huge step for the better in deciding to recover! I second Raspberry. Try to make an appointment and see a specialist if you can, starting recovery can be tough on you and your body. I would give this site a read- http://www.youreatopia.com
Your goals should be your health, which is not the same as being lean right now. It will be very hard to let go of that but it's possible :)

You need to seek professional help to recover. Please do that.

As for the gym time -- 40 minutes is more than enough for a lifting program and I suggest ONCE YOU HAVE SOUGHT COUNSELING and have this under control, you might want to work with a trainer for a little while, if possible.

I would say, stay away from the gym for a few months and go eat Cuban food everyday you will gain 15 lbs in 2 months, then go back to the gym....consult a dr. to see if you are healthy...anorexia destroys your body.
