Too few calories, help!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for help, I'm 32 (f), I'm 5ft 2, and I weigh 10st 4, I've lost 30 pounds since the end if January, but I have been doing it all wrong. I decided that I didn't want to diet, I wanted a lifestyle change. I changed the way I think about food, I eat less, I eat althe right things, but I have been eating far too few calories per day. I very rarely go over 900, it is usually less than that, what makes it worse is I am excercising everyday too. I run 3 days a week and on the other 4 I am on my bike on the turbo trainer, so my net calories are FAR less. I'm stuck, I don't know how to get out of this situation without gaining weight. I understand that I need to increase my calorie intake, but by how much? I don't want to gain any weight, I need an operation and I'm nearly at my goal on weight for it. Can anyone give me some advice?

Building muscle will help raise your resting metabolism as it takes more calories to support muscle than non-lean mass. Perhaps you should consider lifting weights instead of so many cardio sessions and split your time in the gym with roughly half lifting and half cardio and reduce your time in the gym to 3 or 4 days a week. Another advantage, this will help combat the mental fatigue of the same thing day-in and day-out.
  • When Im feeling too thin, I usually eat another salami and parma ham sandwich after I finish my large peperoni pizza.
With a diet coke of course.

Slowly start increasing your calories. Try 100 calories more for 3 days, then add another 100 for a few more days, etc. You may gain a little while your body adjusts, but eventually it should level out.

There is a thread somewhere, I think it's titled "My metabolism reset story" or something like that, that might help!

You speak as if you have no control over this. You have identified the problem, you are eating too few calories. What is preventing you from eating more? I don't mean to be harsh but before I could give any advice I'm going to have to know what is preventing you from simply eating more or eating more calorie rich foods.

I feel as though I don't need to eat anymore, and I don't want to gain any I have lost.
