Even Richard Simmons is jumping on the 90 day bandwagon

I'm up early this morning and I see a Richard Simmons 90 day workout. "Richard Simmons Project H.O.P.E."
The infomercial said you don't pay $200, not $100, only $29.95 X 3. A few mins later they said $29.95 x 2. The program is three DVDs. I'm not buying it but I just got a chuckle when I saw the infomercial.

$60 for 3 DVDs and a 90 day program.

Hey....if it works for some people more power to them. I personally feel ackward dancing through my house...and I get a good laugh at him when he comes bouncing onto the television like a goldfish out of water...but if he inspires people to get up and get moving then good for him.

If Jane Fonda or Denise Austin come out with a 90 day system, I'm done. LOL!
I guess as long as people get in shape with Richard's system, that's cool.
It's cheaper than Insanity or P90X at $60.

Hey you gotta give the guy some props, he was obese, lost weight and has kept it off for a billion years lol. I used to see commercials of him as a kid and they always made me laugh. Happy little fellow....

When I was way younger, my mom had sweatin to the oldies and I loved doing those workouts, at least from what I remember.

Richard Simmons might not be my cup of tea, but I have to admire the man. He really, really cares about people and wants to help them, and it comes through even when he's shilling whatever ridiculous thing he's shilling today. I remember most of those things in that program from the 80's, it's not really a new thing for him, they just slapped a "90" on it 'cause someone told him that's what all those wacky kids are doing these days.

Anyway, he's been there, and he's proven his cred, he gets a pass for bandwagon-jumping.

    LOL.

I kind of want to buy this for mom. She really likes him... and she won't work out.

He's easy to make fun of, but he seems to genuinely care about people and he has helped a lot of people over the years.

I still won't be buying his program, though.

They are so good at Photoshopping...wouldn't believe he's 65! Not my cup of tea but as someone who works with disabled adults and have worked with the elderly, anything that will get them moving is great! The elderly definitely can't handle Insanity but some Richard Simmons would be right up their alley! Seems like a while since I've seen his products, he must need a cash infusion. More power to him though, if it helps someone's health.

    All Hail Richard!

He is the king of weigh loss and he can't be denied. Props to the man that has motivated tons of pounds off of people. I love Richard and everything he does! If you can't dance, he will teach you, and yes people still grapevine they just call it something else ... like the electric slide. C'mon it's a grapevine folks!

    All Hail Richard! :-)

I actually bought this program and I am so enjoying it. It has young people in the cast, including Billy Blank's daughter. It is upbeat and fun, which keeps most people interested in doing a workout. I am now on disk 2 for about 2 weeks and my body IS changing and I am losing weight.

It is a little quirky and my sons, boyfriend and peeps at work make fun of me for doing it because it is Richard Simmons...but it is NOT a boring exercise video like I have always bought. I guess I am now old enought that I need the encouraging words that he provides all the while thinking " Oh goodness, I hope no one else in the house heard him say that"!!
  • I had a VHS tape called Dance Your Pants Off years ago -- I liked that one, but then again, I've always loved cheesy 80s music! ;-)

I have everything Richard has every put out there on the market... including his 1980s Album.. I guess it is called vinyl now? I am still on the 1st DVD on H.O.P.E. I love it! I even bought the extra DVD because I have always liked dance aerobics! If I have to move these buns, then shaking my groove thing to the music I listened to in High School is okay by me! And the scale has been moving.... first time in months I have enjoyed working and am seeing the results on the scale!

    All Hail Richard! :drinker:

I know this is off topic but sometimes I wish Chris Farley was still alive so he could do a 90 day fitness program... It would be like 70 days of eating pizza and ice cream and 20 days of coke / meth.
