Focus T25 Calorie Question

I have decided to start the T25 next week. As of right now, I have lost over 50 lbs by just walking my dogs, but have found that a lot of my core fat remains, and thought the T25 would be a good challenge.

When I was perusing it though this morning, I came across the food and nutrition booklet. It says that I should restrict my calories to 1600/day. Right now, my MFP is at around 2300/day, and I have been very comfortable with it.

Any comments/suggestions on whether I should stay the course with my cals, or try to restrict to get results. Personally, I think I will get results by staying with MFP, but I would love to hear from you guys!!

Maybe dropping some calories will help with the belly fat...
What are your height, weight, age and training stats?

I'm 6'1", 202 lbs, 36 years old, and as for training, I trail walk with my dogs for 45 minutes to 1 hour five times/week.

That seems all most to low for a person your size. Stay with 2000 and give the exercise a run. Try not to go to low.

thanks for the suggestion, I usually stay around 2000-2100, I think I will. Thanks collingmommy! I think the belly fat is staying because I only walk as exercise, my lower body is very toned, and I can walk for hours if I had the time. I have a friend who did the insanity workout, and saw good results, so that is why I thought I would give T25 a try.

    Mifflin - St Jeor Formula

    Men

10 x weight (kg) + 6.25 x height (cm) - 5 x age (y) + 5

    (10 x 92) + (6.25 x 185) - (5 x 36) + 5

    920 + 1155 - 180 + 5

    1900 x 1.55 (T25)

    2945 (tdee) - 600 (deficit)

    2345

T25 calorie recommendation seems low to me too... stay at your current calories and see how you feel. You could bump up your calories to 2500 as a starting point and see how you do.
