Getting back on to the game

So a bit about my progress.

Last year i set my self a goal. i was 132kg and wanted to get to 100kg by Xmas Day. Well on Xmas day i was 100.7kg. I was very pleased with my self. The hard work paid off tremendously. Then xmas hit and the wintery showers and storms, which impacted a lot on my exercise regime.

Like most i work Monday - Friday. 9-6. So after work, i find it very difficult to find any time and honestly im just far too tired after a days work to do anything. and in the mornings i am more of a zombie than a living, breathing human being.

So what was i doing to lose all this weight? believe it or not, i was eating insanely healthily, keeping to a 1000-1100 calorie diet, and walking 1 hour every lunch time, (about 3 miles), plus my walk to and from work which was also at a high pace. All in all i was burning about 600-800 calories a day along with the healthy eating and calorie diet, the weight just fell off.

Now i am at 106kg. I have since put on 6kg. I am still eating my same breakfast, and the salad for lunch and a light dinner in the evening however the exercise due to weather conditions has stopped. What i dot understand is why im still putting weight on :(

I have looked at the Insanity workout as well as the T25 workout, but honestly time is the severely impacting issue here. I get home i want to spend time with my family before the kids go bed. I sit and eat cause im hungry after work then thats my day done.

I am considering starting my exercise on weekends only and whatever walk i can get in during the day at work pending the weather allows.

is this sufficient? It will be irregular but im at a loss as to what else i can do. wishing the days were 30 hours long is a dream that wont come t reality any time soon, so im here seeking advice and some form of pick up. My goal for xmas is around 85kg. So thats another 20kg (which likely may not be realistic but a goal is a goal right?)

So over to you fine people to steer me in the right direction :)

Just to add, i have considered picking up a exercise bike, but im not sure how effective that will be in the grand scheme of things

My advice is to stick with "on track" rather than "on the game".

Are you weighing your food and accurately counting and recording calories?

Yup, everything is weighed with scales. So my intake for the most part is on average the same daily give or take 100 calories depending on the day and how busy its been etc.

So, I've just converted your weight in to old money. You're about 17 stone? Where did you get your calorie figures from? Why are you eating less than the recommended minimum of 1200?

Do you want to open your diary for people to advise on?

Yeah my doctor told me to keep my calorie intake around 1000-1200. but not to exceed 1200 and preferably to keep it around 1100.

My Diary is open now (though i haven't really kept track of anything for a few months, however if you look at my in take around December, its pretty much been the same food i eat.

As for last night, didn't eat much due to stress, lost appetite, which followed through this morning :/

However my usual what i had yesterday is my typical in take barring the Latte and for dinner i have a stir fry with miracle noodles. Home made sauce, the whole thing comes to like 80 calories for a plate.

I will be recording from last night and hopefully we can see what's going on :)

    I think that's a good idea.

When you said "yes", to my question, "Are you weighing your food and accurately counting and recording calories?" whereabouts are you recording them?

We have a blackboard in the kitchen which we update daily.

I'm afraid it's a mystery to me, I'm sorry I'm no help. You have the same calorie goal as me, but you're over 6st heavier than me. You are weighing all of your food, so there's no errors in calorie counting, and you're writing down every calorie you consume, so there's no "cheating" yourself. Sounds as though you're physically more active than me... I'm just bamboozled as I'm losing 2lb every week and not doing as much as you are.

My only thought is that i may have hit a plateau? And if that is the case, how do you get out of one?

I'm not sure. I've never heard of somebody eating at such a deficit and not losing weight (well, apart from Channel 4's Secret Eaters that MFP recently introduced me to!).

You may want to reassess your calorie counts. I don't know what "miracle noodles" are, but I can't imagine any kind of dinner that's going to be 80 calories a plate. If you used oil to stir fry, that's 120 calories right there. Any kind of sauce (homemade or not) is going to run up the score. An onion by itself is 50 calories.
  • Perhaps you are not eating enough? I've always been told that in order to lose weight, you have to make sure that you consume enough calories. Just a thought.

Miracle noodles also known as bare naked noodles is 8 calories per 100 grams. (can google it its very good). As for the tomoto paste and bits of onion and maybe green peppers etc, it isnt that much in calorie. I guess my stress may have something to do with it. Im recording on MFP now and making sure event he slightest thing is recorded. Will check and update in a week. Hopefully its just been me and my silly ways i.e. human error (most likely!)
