Gymtimidated college girl - in beaverton/tigard Oregon

Hey guys,

Just created this account. I live in the Murray/Scholls area. I just bought a membership at Planet Fitness that opened up here. I only went one time so far. I don't know why but I am so scared to go do any kind of weight lifting by myself. I don't exactly know where to start. That being said, I realllllly want to get going with a straight forward weight lifting routine.

I'm not overweight but totally out of shape. I quit smoking 4 months ago. I am a senior at PSU and busy as heck, but I want to get in shape!

Things I want to work on:
• Flabby triceps
• back of thighs
• my abnormally fat booty
• all over toning

I have to be careful because I get sore joints easily. So I want to try to stay away from any extreme jumping around type of exercise.

I'm not afraid of hard work, I'm just kind of clueless once I get into the gym. I need a weightlifting buddy. Apparently with my membership I can bring a guest with me for free. So if any of you wanna come with me and do some weight training together - let me know.

: )

  • Hi!
I'm not far from there. I live by Washington Square I have a membership to 24hr fitness right now. And at crunch in Beaverton
My husband was a body builder but took time off and isn't yet ready to go back to the gym. I've been looking for a gym partner.

Let me know if you are you still interested! We can figure out a gym or something too. I know some basics with lifting and I can always get my husband to mock up a plan too.

Gymtimidation is all in the mind. First step is to recognize that you don't know everything there is to working out, that's ok. I've found that most people at the gym are helpful and when asked are more than happy to show you how to do something and correctly. I still have much to learn myself and often listen in when personal trainers are consulting people inside of the gym.

Getting active is the right start, good luck.
