♫ Guess who's back, back again.. ♫

I've been MIA for the better part of a year. I lost 32 lbs, slow and steady, over a year. Then life happened. I regained 16. Over the past few months, I've signed in here and there, logged my food half-heartedly and generally avoided any sort of accountability. The weather is getting nicer, the days are longer and I'm ready to continue on my journey towards a healthier lifestyle. For me that means focusing less on weight loss and more on eating foods that are good for me and exercising - even if it is just a little bit a day.
I'm just shy of 35. I live with my fiance in Kenosha, WI. We have shared placement of his 12 year old daughter, so she is at our house every other week. We are planning a wedding for May 2015 on a very limited budget. I work in suburban Chicago and spend about 3 hours a day commuting. It's a challenge but I've been listening to my heart and body and the general consensus is I need to make some changes to feel better.
I eat gluten free by choice, because gluten hurts my belly. I also eat limited dairy - mostly cheese in small doses. I'm currently trying out Mark Bittman's Vegan before 6 idea. For now it works.
It seems like a lot of my friends from before are also MIA...so I'd love some new friends. I'm open to everyone, but I'm also very interested in other step-moms, people who live in the Norther IL/Southern WI area and those who are as focused (if not more focused) on how they feel and being healthy than losing weight!
