Just got my fitbit....having issues.....

I got it connected to MFP. I went to the gym and did the elliptical for 25 min. I usually wear a polar HRM and it say I burn 190-220 on average. Well my fitbit put in MFP that my cal burned were only 109?

Also, my fitbit came with no instructions. Am I suppose to log each exercise? If so how? It shows my active min but it doesnt shows how many it burned for those min...It shows what I burned for the whole day.

Ideas?

For something like the elliptical, it would probably be best to manually enter that exercise onto MFP. Just make sure to enter in the exact start time and length or it will double count your calorie burn.

You can look at your calorie burn on the FitBit dashboard. If you go to the graph where the steps/calories are click on calories and hover over the lines. It will show calorie burns for 15 minute periods.

I just wanted to add that there is a FitBit group on here that has a lot of good information for getting started and using the FitBit with MFP.

Most HRMs count both exercise and non-exercise calories in their totals. Fitbit adds only the exercise calories on top of the NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenisis) calories that it counts continuously.
