Just as a once off, I have eaten way over my calorie goal and I am knackered, been so busy today so not going to exercise tonight, plus I have so much planning to do.
Can I exercise those calories tomorrow and not eat them back?
I know this is probably a stupid idea and there is heaps of reasons why I can't but I don't know them yet so am asking
I dont normally eat over my calories, it's just been a crap day
Anyway what's the verdict?
Thanks

your body isn't really counting calories on a 24-hr clock, in which one day over makes you fat. your body composition changes over weeks, months, a year. so you can make adjustments in your eating and exercise the rest of the week, for example, so that at the end of the week you are at your weekly maintenance calorie level if you are trying to maintain. so if you eat 2000 calories a day for maintenance, for example, then each week you should be around 14,000 calories.
so yes, you can certainly make up for a "bad day." I recommend doing just for that around big food-related holidays like Christmas or family get togethers. I may go no carbs at every other meal that day so I can enjoy eating socially with loved ones. If I still go over calories for the day, I just reduce calories or carbs the next day or two days.0 -
Really, haha I kind of guessed once you slept and your body digested the food then that calorie total was over. I have been doing so well and lost 5 kgs in just under 2 weeks.... but today was just too much haha and that chocolate bar was too tempting, plus I had a wine after dinner.
Thank you for the info, really appreciate it. Don't feel quite as guilty as I did0
