I have tried different ones before but I see a lot of types of medicine as more as a mental thing than anything. Nothing has helped me loose and maintain my weight than MFP has. While it seemed that the metabolism pills "worked," I truly think they just worked because at those times I took them, I had been watching what I had been eating as well. Just my experience, others may have better ones than I.

I was in the health food shop yesterday and was tempted but put them back as they had caffeine and other stuff that I don't want to increase. (I drink enough coffee!) I would be interested to see what others think though - especially those that reckon they work! I might change my tune then :-)

I looked at soya lecithin too which was more tempting "fat emulsifier" but put them both back. Anyone know about this? I'm interested in taking a supplement to help me on my way as long as it's healthy. The quick fix idea is always a tempting but seems too good to be true.

    Thanks for posting

doestnt caffine work as a laxative if you have too much? thats why i thought it would be in there. and my tablets say dont drink caffine with it but i swallwoed mine with a coffee as it was the only drink i had on me, nothing happened. But i was shaking alot, that could be why, never thought about it before.

cupcake - maybe the shaking jiggled off a few pounds :-) Doesn't sound good for you if they make you shake though!

    Here are the listed ingredients...

    Other Ingredients:

Bulking Agents (Dicalcium Phosphate, Microcrystalline Cellulose), Green Tea, Kola Nut, Anti-Caking Agents (Stearic Acid, Silicon Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate), Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose, Uva Ursi, Emulsifier (Acacia Gum), L-Carnitine Tartrate, Cayenne Pepper, Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine Hydrochloride), Chromium Polynicotinate.

Problem with these is that you can't see the individual dosages and just because they are listed, you don't know if it is sufficient. Green tea is very effective, but the recommended amount is 200-400mg daily and works better combined with caffeine. My guess is kola nut is thrown in for the caffeine. Cayenne is good, but effective dosage should be 30-120mg per day.

Supplements i have read that are effective (backed by studies) are...
    Bitter Orange
    Caffeine
    Calcium/Vit D
    CLA
    Fish Oil
    Fiber
    Forskolin
    Green tea
    MCT Oil
    Yerba Mate
    Capsaicin
