Hey everyone! I was looking for new breakfast ideas since I'm always having the same boring cereal, yogurt, etc. I thought I would start to do some type of protein shake in the morning. I have heard good things about Shakeology, but wondered if anyone had a cheaper alternative? I noticed whole foods has a huge bulk protein, chia, whey powder section but I don't know what is what! Any advice would be great...basically just looking for a type of smoothie or shake that is nutritional and will fill me up at breakfast time!
And always, new friends are always welcome too!! :-)

Do a search on Shakeology here. You will find all you need to know. Don't waste your money, there are plenty of other protein powders out there that are cheaper and taste much MUCH better.0

I make my own.
4 oz skim milk
4 oz FF Greek yogurt
a banana or cup of berries
1/2 tablespoon of all natural peanut butter or almond butter
sprinkle of cinnamon
dash of vanilla
1/2 tablespoon of dried coconut
1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder
ice.
It is around 300-330 calories. You can obviously make it more or less by playing around with the ingredient amounts.0 -
Hi, I use Body Fortress (Chocolate or Vanilla). One scoop has 26gm of Protein. Mix it with skim milk and you add another 11gm I believe. I am doing it "pre" gastric sleeve surgery. If you blend it, you can mix with 1/2 bananna, or frozen fruit, or plain greek yogurt for an added boost. I have heard of some pretty creative concoctions out there!! :-)0

If you have a GNC nearby I eat their Quest bars. They have about 20 grams of protein per bar and they have a ton of different flavors.0

My morning smoothie:
2 oz Euro Greens (kale and other greens)
1/2 banana
fruit or berries
1 scoop of protein powder (I use Designer Whey or GNC Lean 25)
1/4 cup of non-fat plain greek yogurt (I use Chobani)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon flax seed (ground)
Water
(if my ingredients weren't frozen I add some ice too)0
