Just a thought about biggest loser (the show)

I was thinking the other day. I have HUGE fluctuations in my weight during ovulation time as well as TOM. How do they account for this for the women on biggest loser? What if the contestant is on her period during the weigh-in & 7lbs of her loss isn't accounted for due to TOM. How do you think they get around that?

  • my guess is that when they start the program there body goes into such shock that they prob do not have one. if your body is under a lot of stress or you are exercising in the extreme it can cause you not to have a period. they might also take a water pill of some kind. there is a LOT about the show they don't tell the public. =]

Not everyone has such big fluctuations - I never really had that problem in my first round of weight loss - I was pretty consistent every week no matter what time of the month it was.

If I had to guess, they probably don't "account" for it, since it's not the same for everyone. It might explain why one woman will have a bad week with a small loss or something even when they worked hard. I know for me, my weight doesn't really change much during that week, but for other women it's a few pounds difference. A lot does go on behind the scenes that we don't realize, healthy or otherwise.
