Vodka Drinks!

Hey guys, i've never asked the community for advice but I figured I could get some good feedback on this subject. It's my best friends birthday tonight and we're going to be hitting the vodka really hard. I'm wondering about "healthier" alternatives for mixed drinks I can give a try. I've tried Vodka/Diet Dr. Pepper but i'd like to stray from it because it leaves me very bloated for the next few days, which is no bueno. I'm thinking of either trying club soda or crystal light lemonade or something similar. While not entirely calorie free, it might save me from the sodium bloat. I'd love to get some recommendations. I'm on a strict 1200-1800 calorie a day diet, the closer I can get to 1200 at the end of the day, the better.

Vodka soda water and fresh lime is always a good combo0

Personally I am not sure if I was going out for vodka mixes or other mixes that I could stay within my calorie limit as I don't like to drink on an empty stomach.
My preference would be to spread any excess calories from the night out by creating a slightly bigger deficit over several days.
That would be my preference though, perhaps someone else will have another suggestion.

Ditch the vodka and go with Patron Silver

Vodka lime and soda is a good option. Gin and diet tonic is also quite low cal if you wanted to mix it up a little. Have fun! Sounds like it will be an epic night! :-)0

If you must drink, then I agree with the Vodka Soda Water and Lime option. Just be aware that it is not only the mix but the alcohol itself that affects your weight loss program.
Remember, Under normal conditions, your body gets its energy from the calories in carbohydrates, fats and proteins, which are slowly digested and absorbed within the gastrointestinal system. However, this digestive process changes when alcohol is present. When you drink alcohol, it gets immediate attention (because it is viewed by the body as a toxin) and needs no digestion.
Alcohol has 7 calories per gram and NO nutritional value whatsoever, so they are empty calories!
So, When the body is now focused on processing this alcohol, it is not able to properly break down foods containing carbohydrates and fat. Therefore, these calories are converted into body fat and are carried away for permanent storage on your body.
Lastly, alcohol stimulates your appetite and lowers your inhibitions which means you might just be tempted to lose all self control!
Now that all the doom and gloom stuff is out of the way, I personally don't think it is an issue to have a few drinks infrequently, especially on special occasions, but I would try not to "hit it hard" but rather look at an evening of moderation, try have a glass of water in between drinks, this will half your alcohol drinking, and keep you well hydrated, (alcohol is also a diuretic).
