Polar FT7 or H7

I've decided to buy my first HRM and decided between these 2 models. But I didn't know which was the best for tracking things like spinning and boxercise as well as classes.
Also there are mixed comments on which (or both) than can link to MFP.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

The Polar H7 is essentially a bluetooth enabled HRM strap and not a unit. It is compatible with the following Polar products: FT1, FT2, FT4, FT7, FT40, FT60, FT80, RS100, RS300X, RS400, RCX5, CS100, CS200, CS300, V800
You can also use it with your android device or iPhone and have access to a large number of great apps which can take the place of an actual heart rate watch..
The FT7 is a great little unit and has some nice features, the major flaw in my opinion is the black screen, very hard to read when in low lighting.0 -
I can't speak for the H7 but I do have the FT7.
It's comfortable, and I'm a big guy. You can get them pretty "cheap" if you look, $70. It does not link to MFP which I think is good because I don't put in all my exercise calories in anyway. If it's not steady cardio, NO heart rate monitor will be accurate but the FT7 is one of the most trusted.
If you go on Polars website, the H7 has pretty bad reviews, 2.7 stars out of 5. Most complain about staying connected or simply it just stopped working. On the other hand, the FT7 has 8 five star reviews and only 1 one star review.0 -
Thank you! Think I'll go with the FT7 then and maybe get the H7 later.0

I use the H7 ... 4 to 5 times a week for five months with no problems. It links just fine to my Android phone (must be latest version of Android OS, BLE capable) and with my TomTom multisport.
If you want a quality HRM only, the FT7 is a great choice. If you want something you can integrate with your phone, bluetooth capable GPS, or bluetooth capable bike computer then the H7 is more of what you need. It comes down to intended use.0
