Why should I eat chia seeds?

I've been noticing in some people's diaries that they have a 0.33-1 tablespoon serving of chia seeds with a meal, so what's so good about them? Curious to know what benefits these seeds have. c:

They're very rich with Omega-3 fatty acids, fibers, minerals (calcium, magnesium). Adding them to food can keep you full and satisfied, which helps lower food cravings between meals. Also they're gluten-free.0

Because they're the new trendy food and pumpkin seeds are so last season0

I decided to give them a try after seeing MFP friends constantly log them. They've got decent amounts of omega3, fiber and protein for their small amounts0
