Getting to many calories, hitting my macros?

Totals: 2615 calories , 294 Carbs, 51 fat 177 protein, 10 fiber

Goal is 2355 calories. 294 carbs, 52 fat, 177 protein and 38 fiber. How come that I am 260 + calories? Any explanation would be appreciated.

Your math is off. Carbs and protein have 4 calories per gram, and fat has 9 calories per gram. So...

    294g carbs x 4 = 1176 calories from carbs
    51g fat x 9 = 459 calories from fat
    177g protein x 4 calories = 708 calories from protein

Total = 2343 calories. If you just ate what you listed, you didn't eat 2615 calories.

You are either choosing entires that have inaccurate numbers in the database or rounding errors on the packaging of some foods is causing problems.

Get a food scale and weigh your food to be accurate

Are you logging exercise or have a Fitbit (or similar) that is adding calories to your day for you to eat back? Otherwise, AliceDark has the correct math for you and you need to re-check your food entries for "correctness".

This is rounding errors on the macros.

its the big pictue, not the little things... dont try and make an exact science out of something that's not

calories are rounded.... they are also inaccurate by +-20%

use some common sense... do multiples of 9 and 4 always end in a zero? hell no... and fat is often labeles as something like 2.5 grams... ever seen a package that said 22.5 calories (2.5 grams fat). Does this make sense? If not ::face desk::

If you do the math, nearly ALL products macros do not perfectly match the calories listen on the package. Like 95%!
