Need help getting started on Exercise

I am working on eating better but am having a hard time getting motivated with exercise. I have 4 kids at home so going out when the hubby isn't home is very difficult and he doesn't get home until its time to start dinner for the family. I also can't "run" due to asthma. I am hoping this will improve if I lose a little weight through healthy eating. I also have thyroid problems (no thyroid) and PCOS. So I take Synthroid and Metformin. i just started the Metformin recently to try to help with the PCOS. I am looking to lose 76 pounds total and am down 2.5 so far. Any tips on workouts that can get me started withough it being like P90X that is too high intensity for a beginner like me? I primarily carry my weight through my middle and have a prominent mothers apron that I am dying to ditch! TIA!

Hi!
I'm not familiar with your issues, but I can say that starting usually is difficult for everybody. Everybody feels, at the beginning, how insuperable are the difficulties of finding space, time, the right exercise.
I may tell you that with time, while you start to see and FEEL the pro of exercising, you will find a thousand way to do it. And you will want and enjoy doing it.
Start walkin every time you can.
Take your kids to the park.
When sitting, stay with you back straight.
Or move you legs, shuffle your feet while waiting.
Just catch every opportunity to move. You may not realize how many they are!
Use online free video of cardio... sorry, I don't know anything about weight lifting.

Walk Away the Pounds is a great place to start. Newer DVDs are called Just Walk. Anyway, these are basically low impact aerobics with no choreography. The thing that makes them great starter videos is that you can go at your own pace. You can build up in speed and miles at your own pace.
These videos don't require equipment (most of them anyway).....can be done with limited space......don't bother downstairs neighbors (jumping around)...... are also simple for people with 2 left feet (me).
