Here I go again

So I am not new to fitness pal, but I have certainly not been here lately. In the last 3 months my husband and I have both faced some medical news that throws our age and our lifestyle in our face. Nothing serious at this point but if we dont change some habits it could go in that direction. We are both overweight, have high cholesterol and he has high blood pressure.
So here is our plan:
I gave up the cigarettes. This is something I have been attempting for months now but I am a week in and doing ok with it. I've finally admitted that I have to make a choice between smoking and breathing. Seems simple but it took me awhile to let it sink in.
We are again becoming more active, committing to 5 days of 30 minutes of exercise a week. We have done this before so I know that this is will be easy once we get into the routine.
Slow down on the drinking. We have always been the kind of people that drink a few beers after a long week at work. Our bellies are reflecting this.
And finally, of course change our diet. This will be the tricky one as we both love our chicken wings and nachos.
And that is why I have come back. Thank you for reading. Any support, accountability, motivation, encouragement or advise is highly welcome.
