Good workouts while at work?

I work at a local childrens bookstore in my town. There are only two of us who work here so I normally work long shifts of 6-9 hours. Anyone know of any workouts that I could while here? I am planning on loosing 60 lbs an hate to waste the day sitting behind a desk (occasionally sweeping and straightening shelfs). My target areas are thighs/butt, tummy/muffin top, and arms. I know squats and crunches and all that, but is there anything else i could do to lose weight while i'm here? Anyways, thanks for reading this! :drinker:

hi. you could take some resistance bands with you and look up some workouts on youtube0

Lately, I've taken to doing jump rope, jogging on the spot, squats,press-ups ets whenever I get a few quiet minutes. I find that throughout the day, it really adds up.x0

My approach to work is to get my work done so I can get into a gym (either at work, at home, or outside) and get a real workout in.0

While I get to the gym most days in the early AM, I work with a woman who fairly constantly "dances" in place or at whatever station she may be working. Ours is not a sedentary job, however, but she just keeps herself moving. She has lost 80 pounds in the last 2 years (granted, certainly not just from dancing in place!). FWIW0

same here. i work 12 hour shifts, usually 3-4 days in a row. i prefer to do a real work out at the gym or outside or something.
but to sneak in a few exercises at work is fine too, but they can hardly form the bulk of your workout.
you work at a bookstore? do you have some kind of ladder or step stool? you can do step-ups on it. you can even lean on it and do push ups. you can do squats and lunges. grab some big books as weights as well.0 -
I forgot, but there are some "exercises" I do at work. I take occasional breaks where I get out of my office and walk around the building. I also do stretches for my plantar tendons while making coffee or during these walks. Lately, I've been doing some (2- and 1-leg) calf raises on the steps a few times during the day.
But these are in no way a replacement for actual workouts (IMHO).0 -
Do squats against a wall. You can put a small exercise ball behind you to make it easier in the beginning.0
