Didnt hit goal weight at my set date?

Because that's exactly how I am feeling right now, Im actually pretty depressed about it, I would of thought by now I would of been at my goal weight, Im ready to go to a doctor and get my hormone levels checked out, thyroid, because I cant wrap my mind around why it took me so long to lose 34 pounds, and this is with two rounds of insanity, jillian michaels 30 day shred, and currently im doing les mills pump.I mean I worked my butt of that whole year, I had just had a baby in december2013 with a csection, and then February on here counting calories, working out trying to change. Even before I had my son I was overweight, I actually weigh less now then I did pre pregnancy, which is something I should be proud of but im just not. I would of thought by now I would of been down a total of 60 pounds, I see success stories on here of people who have lost double that in a year and its like whats wrong with me. Im young im only 23 years old, i know as you get older weight gets harder to take off, but I just thought my body would of gotten with the program by now, lately ive been stricter with what i eat so I can lose alittle faster, but im just sad by it, I just would like to know if anyone else has felt like me and how can I not feel like that. and Im not gonna give up I didnt come this far to quit and people on here are so encouraging and it really helps me to continue to keep going.

Sounds like so far you have a pretty good attitude. Last year when I started, i wanted to reach my goal by my birthday. Well, My birthday came and went, and I didnt hit my goal. Not even close. I was so mega depressed about it, I fell off the wagon for months. It took a LONG time to get back refocused...and all because I didnt reach that date. You just have to keep at it. At some point, the weight will begin to fall, and you will be so happy that you did.

Don't be discouraged! Just be patient and have faith. Remember it's not just about how you LOOK - it's about how you FEEL and what you are putting in your BODY. Even if the weight loss doesn't "show", you are making your body STRONGER, and your heart STRONGER, and you are putting good food on your body which has a positive effect on your immune system, your cardiovascular system and on your chances for living a long and happy life! You are cutting down your risk for cancer and heart attacks and you are decreasing your risk of falls and injuries later on in life, and even Alzheimer's/aging way later on etc.. You know?! You are doing this to be healthy for your children moving forward in the future. The scale is only one indicator of improvement!

Good luck I'm here for you!

In looking at your diary, it appears that you don't always track your calories, but when you do track, you don't eat nearly enough. You're averaging around 800 calories a day. Is that right?

@smugglesmacks- sometimes I do have days i don't always count because I eat the same things everday, there are days when I only at 800-1000 cals those are mainly on non workouts days.

Just keep going. Remember, it's about making healthier lifestyle choices, not about how fast the weight comes off (although it is nice when it comes off quickly). Eat a good amount of calories (don't go over your weekly limit) and exercise regularly.

If the weight is coming off slowly, that is fine. It just means that your body is taking its time to lose weight. Some people lose faster than others either for genetic reasons, hormone levels, or because they have more time to exercise and don't get hungry as easily so they don't feel tempted to go over their calorie goal. It's okay if you don't reach your goal on time, just move it back to another date and keep trying. Maybe if your goal is 1/2 lb a week then you will be able to meet it more easily. 1/2 pound a week is recommended for the last 15 pounds anyway, so if you have that be your goal early on then you will be motivated because you'll constantly meet or beat your goal. Too many people want to do 2 lbs/week or more and that's not realistic for many of us. We don't have six hours a day that we can dedicate to exercise and a personal trainer like the actresses and models do.

If you're not losing any weight at all or are gaining weight over a period of several weeks and you're sure your diary is accurate (calories eaten - calories burned) then it's time to see a doctor because their could be something else going on that needs to be addressed.
