Talk to me about android apps to log my activity

I have a Samsung Galaxy s4. It came preloaded with a pedometer app which I found enlightening - I have never used one before, and I find it motivating. BUT - it does not sync with MFP. Most of my excercise is walking, often pushing a buggy. What is a good app that will monitor my activity and automatically tell MFP what I have done?

yip, I have just looked at that and there are loads, I wasn't sure which one would be best! That's why I was hoping for reccomendations! Do you use one? Which do you prefer for walking / day to day activity (rather than logging workouts)?0

I have an iphone and use an app called Endomondo - it's a free app and syncs with MFP. I do believe you can also use this app with an Android phone. I love it. It will tell you the distance you walked/run, the number of calories you burn, will show you a map of the route you took, can set it up to count steps (I don't use this feature since I have a fitbit). Can set it up to have a coach tell you each mile you complete and the time it took plus calories burned. I upgraded my free app to the pro version some time ago - eliminates the ads.....not sure that version is still available. Can also set it up for other activities, but I am a walker and that is what I use it for. Hope this is helpful.0

I just got Samsung but it's a 3. I downloaded Map My Walk and Map My Fitness. They both sync up with MFP. I haven't tried to do it yet but I know a lot of people on here use both these apps!!0

Before some *kitten* broke into my car and stole it, I too had a Galaxy S4.
I used the shealth and it was ok before I joined MFP.
I currently use MFP for food and workout logging.
My HRM to get accurate calorie burned measures to log into MFP.
And I use MapMyRun to find out how far I hiked/walked on a new route.

Is that a seperate pedometer like a fitbit?0 -
HRM is a heart rate monitor.
I use it only for workouts to see how much I really burn.
You enter your height, weight, age into the watch and put a strap round your chest, which counts the heart rate.
From these all data, the watch calculates the calories burned for the exercise.
Unfortunately MFP oder other pages all overestimate by far your real calorie burn.
Fitbit i think is more something to wear the whole day. But I am no expert on this kind of devices.0
