So... I've been on a 1700 calorie or less diet for the past couple of weeks. I've managed to stick to it very well, without feeling hungry at all. Except for the last 3 days that is. I've been ravenously hungry, and I don't know why. I am trying to do my best not eat too much and I am still logging my calories, but I've already eaten like 900+ calories this morning.
It seems like this is related to my hormonal cycle too.
So any advice not to ruin what I've worked for so far?

Hey, this happens to all of us sometimes, so don't worry about it too much.
In your position, I'd just try to eat normally/relatively lightly for the rest of the day, log it all, and then start out fresh tomorrow. There's no use in feeling bad about what you've already eaten, I know that for me that just leads to more eating and so on and so on in that vicious cycle a lot of us are familiar with.
In the longer term, you're still in the early phases of this diet change, so these days of feeling a lot more hungry might just be a hump you need to get over to get into the groove - I know it happened to me in my first three weeks or so. If it is a hormonal thing, then I have absolutely zero clue what I'm talking about and should probably just stop talking!0 -
It's possibly hormonal. I do have a couple days every month where I want to eat everything I see, I'm not really hungry, though....just a really bad case of the munchies.
As far as advice, it's only one day, so you haven't ruined anything. Consider the morning a write off, get back on track, and you'll be fine.0 -
one day at a time, one meal at a time. just think of how much happier you will be long term if you avoid giving into these cravings in the short term
if it is related to your hormone cycle then why not eat at maintenance for that week, and continue onwards afterwards, that way you dont do any damage to your progress and you still get to indulge a little. it may take a little longer but if you go too hard then you might end up putting it all back on once your done0 -
TOM is a bummer for us girlies............. But yes we all have munchies, and eat more calories than other days!
I would say either workout at the gym to burn them off, or try and eat lighter the next day!
Don't worry about it too, Your body wants the calories0 -
It happens to me every month. Just try to make healthier, more filling choices, and don't sweat it if you go over. It will pass.0
