So I am interested in a couple things Vitamins and Body wraps, lol. What is the point of Vitamins, do I need to take them? Are they Safe? What do I take them for? I really kinda want to start taking them, to increase my health--but I don't know anything about Vitamins. ( I said men too, so Men would post,)
So, here in the South--North Carolina, we have a spa called Balance Day Spa, and they offer a service called a body wrap. They wrap you entire body in this foam, and then have you workout (in the spa) really hard for an hour, and then this brown water will collect in the foam, and hang off into bags, then you go and hold this big pole thing and it vibrates really hard and shakes all the fat off your body. ( can you only imagine what this looks like? Man, what we do to look good! ) Any-who, By the time you are done, you will have lost like 10 pounds @ least and like 5-10 inches @ least too. Normally sketchy things don't appeal to me, but she swears by it. What do you guys think??

i take b complex, calcium, and vitamin D
The Body wrap sounds completely disgusting!! And.... a little unsafe! Sounds like it just takes water out of your body (dehydration... then your body will hang on to water and you will gain it all back!)0 -
Don't know about the Body Wrap thing. Sounds kinda bogus to me. But the vitamins are a good things. I recommend going to a health food or vitamin store and get a GOOD multi-vitamin. The kind the sell in grocery stores are ok at best. Especially as you work-out you need vitamins and minerals to help your body maintain energy and balance.Good luck and if you do the Body Wrap let us know how it turned out. I am a bit curious.0

Vitamins for Idiots will tell you everything you need to know about vitamins, but mostly, a multivitamin, and a few supplements recommended by your Dr. for specifically your situation will be fine.
As for body wraps, I've never heard of the format you described, but what other forms I know of, yes they work, and make you slimmer- but you aren't loosing fat. You are tightening the skin and loosing water weight. An experienced massage therapist could do the same thing with essential oils and Saran wrap.0 -
I have had the body wraps that you are talking about. I have done it four times. (I was silly enough to buy into their sales pitch!). It is a great detox. You do lose inches. So basically if you have an event to go to it might be an idea if you want to feel slimmer. Of course once you start eating and drinking the weight or inches comes right back. I did the wraps because I thought if I detoxed well I would be able to lose weight easier. Not true. Save your $$ if you are hoping for a quick-fix. But for a detox it is pretty good. But it is gross. And it certainly ain't pretty. I remember the woman wrapping me in the soaked bandages (the 6 inch wide ones) from head (over your hair) down to your toes very tight; making it difficult to breath. Put a rain poncho on me and put me on a Gazelle and walked out the door and came back 20 minutes later to put me at a rebounder station when I had to jump for another 10 minutes then had me leaning against a vibrating pole to help move the lymph. (As I am writing this I am giggling to myself about what I must have been thinking!). And since I paid for the 4 sessions upfront I felt I had to complete what I started!
Not doing it again. I think eating well, drinking water, getting exercise and having support are really the "secret". A journey not a destination I am learning.... FINALLY!0 -
I take vitamins as supplements. With all the chemicals and pesticides on foods they aren't as nutritious as the should be and I can't afford to pay organic prices. I don't eat seafood , so salmon oil is a necessary for me. I take calcium, a multivitamin and a couple of herbal supplements ( ginseng to help with sleep is one of them) Research any vitamins or supplements that you are considering taking. Some vitamins ( usually the cheap brands) are not worth taking.
As to that wrap thing......WTF??? There is no way that is even remotely beneficial to your body. If you want to detox, do a day of fasting drinking filtered water, herbal teas and things like that. Although there may be immediate changes, they will be gone when you rehydrate. Save your money.0 -
If it was any good, everyone would be doing it.
The secret to staying fit and healthy is no secret at all - eat well and exercise regularly. Bottom line0 -
