Question for those who have gone gluten free....did this work for you? I am highly considering changing over to this, I have gained over 50 pounds in less then ten months and been to doctors who just send me to other doctors? I am thinking I have an allergy to gluten and so far nobody has found out? Many of my friends who removed gluten have also dropped weight. I was wondering if others have also and if so how much, and the time frame. Thanks

I will repeat what 2 other people have said - "...ONLY IF YOU EAT LESS THAN YOU BURN". Some people go gluten free or vegan but do not cut down on their calorie intake and thus do not lose weight.0 -
I've quit eating gluten because of my fertility issues; there's a chance gluten intolerance and multiple miscarriages are linked. I'm trying it for six months. If it doesn't work, I'm happily going back to eating bread and drinking beer. I've lost weight, but only because I can't snack on crackers and bread so I end up snacking on yogurt and fruit which is better anyway.
ETA: My mom recently found out she's gluten intolerant (horrible digestive issues when she eats gluten) so there's a chance I am too, just without any symptoms yet. My mom has not lost weight from eliminating gluten because she doesn't limit her calorie intake.0 -

If you consume fewer calories than you burn, yes. But eliminating gluten will not be the reason for your weight loss.0 -

I have been gluten free for almost 2 years. I have resolved many, many, many health issues just by changing what I eat. Morbid obesity was just one of them. I was sick with many illnesses, many of which are very common as to seem "normal" (GERD, depression, joint pain etc), for all of my life. It is not normal to feel sick or be in pain but for many people it seems normal because that's all we have known and everyone around us has the same problems. It's easy to "eat less than you burn" when one is no longer craving and bingeing due to malnutrition (nutrient deficiency, not lack of total food) or has metabolic disorder (hormones manage metabolism- the Law of Thermodynamics crowd don't at all seem to grasp this).
You'd be best asking this question in a forum where people who have experienced that the food matters don't get ridiculed to death. Good luck.0
