Flutter Kicks--feeling in my back?!

Greetings earthlings!
I've recently introduced flutter kicks into my workout for core, but for some reason I'm feeling it in my lower back instead of my core. I've tried doing them with my hands/fists under my butt and without them under it. Does anyone else have this problem or am I doing them wrong? Thanks!

Are you keeping your back flat against the floor? if you have any arch in your back then you'll start to feel an ache in your lower back.0

If you're only feeling it there, then those muscles have probably been under worked for some time, so they may not be as used to your "core" workout. All the muscle groups in that region are attached at different points, somewhat like a built-in corset or gurdle to hold your vital organs in place. Abs, back, shoulders, ribs, chest- all enganging in a good core workout. I wouldn't worry about it. As you get used to using those muscles, you shouldn't notice it as much.0

All good points. I don't have an arch in my back, so I think I'm convinced my lower back isn't worked enough. I'll tweak my routine a little bit so this doesn't keep happening. Thank you! :happy:0
