Under Calorie Goal?

I am kind of new to this APP, and have set my daily calorie intake at 1200. I am trying to lose weight since I just had my baby... I ate 1340 calories today.. But because I do cardio everyday, I burned 700 calories working which it then adds on to my daily amount.
I am completely satisfied with 1200 calories a day. I don't understand why it keeps telling me I am under my calorie goal at the end of each day.
Someone elaborate for me please?
Thanks

Your body burns calories when you exercise, which is why MFP adds them back in to your daily calorie intake.
What exactly are you doing for cardio? 700 sounds like a big burn. If you really are burning that much you should try to eat some of those calories back, if not all of them.
If you are burning 700 calories and eating 1340 calories, you're only actually getting 640 calories a day. That's nowhere NEAR enough to keep you going. You might not feel it now, but doing this on a daily basis will end up making you sluggish, hungry, grumpy, and maybe even slow your metabolism down permanently. Be careful.0 -
1200 calories eaten - 700 burned = 500 calories total
You need to eat back your exercise calories as MFP puts you in a deficit so without the exercise you are going to lose weight.
Calculate your tdee at fitnessfrog website and take away 250 for each half pound you want to lose a week.
Good luck0 -
A lot of times MFP overestimates calories burned. It can also underestimate how much you ate. That is why most people on here recommend eating back no more than half of your exercise calories to avoid accidentally going over your goal. Plus, you don't want to force yourself to eat (a lot of people will feel bloated/sick if they do this). You already ate more than 1200 and MFP only gives the warning if your calories eaten is less than 1200, not if you net less than 1200. I net less than 1200 regularly when I do my Zumba exercise but I almost never eat less than 1200.0

MFP never underestimates how much you ate...you do that.
If you are a new mom you really do need to eat more food...1200 is the min allowed here.
And hunger is not the best indicator of what the body needs...
You need to eat your exercise calories back and reach at least 1200 a day...
If you are netting about 500 a day you have the distinct possiblity of harming yourself...being tired, lethargic etc...I mean very weak and tired...
it would be awful if you got to the point you almost drop the baby....sounds a bit extreme but if you are sitting feeding the baby...get up and suddenly get dizzy and fall what then?0
