New here and looking to regain my life

Hello All,
I am Jackie and I am a 35 yo female. Weight has always been an issue during my adult years. I am looking to be back to a healthy weight of 160 lbs. I would actually be happy at 170 lbs. I'm 5'9" and I love being thicker rather than skinny. I don't want to lose my curves but just enhance them more. I am looking at this journey as a way to improve my health, improve my chances of getting pregnant (if it is to happen) and just feeling overall healthy. My vices will be alcohol ( I like to have a glass or two of wine after work), chocolate and anything salty.

Welcome!! I also share the struggle of wine! I find that since I've started the new year I have not had a single glass. I would open up a bottle at dinner and before ya know it the whole thing would be gone! I switched to one beer, which is an acquired taste I know but I can't keep pouring myself a glass of it. It is already portioned and I know how many calories I am taking in. I have not had any wine since the new year and I'm not craving it either. This may or may not be good advice but it has helped me so far Maybe save wine for a special night of the week?0

Hey girl. Welcome to MFP. I would love it if you would add me. I also have some bad and some good. With my fitness pal you can eat chocolate. I have had 6 chips ahoy cookies since I stated Mon and I have treats everyday. I just figure them into my calorie alotment. Alchohol unfortunately causes your metabolism to slow for 48-72 hours after you drink each drink. I would suggest trying to limit this indulgence to one day a week and don't forget to add the calories into your food diary. Good luck on your way to getting your new hot bod!0

Thank you all for the advice. I will not be switching to beer since I don't have a taste for it except for the occasional Corona. I will cut back my wine intake to one night a week and just to one glass then. I'll have to avoid multiple nights were the girls want to have a drink after work. I didn't realize that alcohol can slow down you metabolism. I will be keeping the chocolate. I will just have to cut up the bar into three to satisfy the craving. Thanks guys for your support. I hope to continue on my journey. :flowerforyou:0

Hi
Welcome aboard. You are in the right place for motiovation and support.
Ive been here since July and altho I went off track a little during the holidays I have been very successfull.
When you really want it this is definitely a great way of doing it.
The principles behind this method will stand you in great stead for a long term life style chnage that we help you avhieve your goal.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. some weeks you might not lose or even gain, but by logging everything you eat you can see where you went off track and learn from that.
Good Luck, try to get a group of friends on here who will comment and support you on your journey
