In the first 30 days, I was able to drop quite a few pounds. However the past two weeks I seem to be stuck at this weight. I have never gone over my daily calories (1450) and I have been meeting my exercise goals. Any advice or tips would be very much appreciated.

It may help to have a little patience. If you are doing the right things then you just have to be patient and wait on the results to catch up with you.

What are you doing for exercise? It's goodly to change that up when you plateau, add some interval training, which is where you ramp up your intensity every 5-10 minutes for 30-60 seconds.

Maybe those first few pounds was just water weight? Have you noticed that your clothes are fitting better? I know it can be discouraging, but this takes time.

Exercise is mostly walking, Brazil Butt Lift, and now that school is out I have begun swimming again. Thanks so much for the advice, I will try to find some ways to incorporate interval training into my workouts. My clothes do seem to fit better, and some are even baggy. I have just gotten down to the weight that I have always gotten "stuck" at when dieting.

Calorie deficit = weight loss. There is no other explanation.

Patience. If you take a second to look at the pictures on my page you'll see what I've learned from weighing every day. The body weight fluctuates. The overall trend (when moving more and eating less) is downward but some days/weeks the scale is practically evil.

Many things can have a temporary effect on your weight. Sodium, stress, hormones, sleep, time of the month. Technically if you're always in a reasonable deficit you are steadily losing fat - but the scale can't always see it. Just keep at it and you'll see those results in time.

One of the images is a 30 day trend. Lots of movement, and the spike in the middle of the month? That was TOM combined with a very high-sodium weekend. It took a few days to recover!

The other is a 3 month trend. In the longer cycle the quirks look smoother. If you weigh yourself every day then look for your own patterns, as a way of learning what to expect. That makes it easier (for me at least) when the scale doesn't perform as I want it to. I know its normal, nothing to worry about.

Two weeks is not a plateau, it's just a minor bump in the road. Since you lost so much the first month - 14 pounds? Is that right? - your body is probably just playing catch up right now. Your calorie goal sounds reasonable. As long as you're sure you're tracking accurately and consistently, I think you just need to be patient and give it at least a couple more weeks, if not 4 more, before you get worried about your progress.

And I know what you mean about that stuck weight - I was there a couple years ago and technically am there right now but when I'm honest with myself it's usually because I'm not being quite as good as I should be and once I get just a tiny bit better about making better food choices, drinking plenty of water and getting my exercise in, the weight starts dropping again.

    You'll get there!

I had those same feelings a couple weeks back then I lost a couple pounds the week or so after. I'm there again I just refuse to give up. I can't seem to crack that 30 lbs but I know everyday I'm one step closer.

Thank you all! I am certainly not the most patient, but I guess I will be learning. I will also keep the food information in mind. . . I like a lot of salty foods and I am still working on getting my Sodium intake down. Of all the diets and exercise routines I have tried, this has been the biggest help for me. Thank you all again for the support and advice!
