2 years ago today, I made the decision to turn my life (and my health) around. I weighed in at 332 pounds.

I had just lost my Mother to cancer. I felt horrible. I looked horrible.

It was a dark time in my life. I put on a smile for my husband and kids, but in reality, I was falling apart inside.

On a whim, I started counting my calories and exercising.

I never thought that I’d stick with it.

    In a year, I lost 90 pounds.

Year two was not as easy as year one.

My weight loss really slowed down.

It’s frustrating, but I’m hanging in there.

I’ve come too far to quit now.

I lost 20 pounds in year two,

bringing my total lost to 110 pounds.

I may not have lost a lot in the last year,

but that doesn’t make me any less proud of where I am now.

Two years ago I was wearing: 26/28 jeans, 4x/5x shirts and 26/28 dresses.

Today I wear: 16/18 jeans, 1x/2x shirts and 16/18 dresses.

    *****

I was really hoping to have a better loss for this year,

    but I’m really not complaining.

I know what I am capable of and it can

    only get better.

I ran a half marathon less than 2 weeks ago.

I couldn’t have done that last year.

I feel so good about how I look and how I feel.

My confidence has increased 10 fold.

    I love shopping for clothes!

I don’t have to search for the biggest sizes any more!

I’m really looking forward to the next year and what it has in store.

Whether it be another 20 pound loss, or only 5.

I will never go back, only forward.

Very inspiring. The important thing is your spirits and health have dramatically improved. You will get to your ultimate goal weight soon. As you said, you will only go forward from here. Congrats!!!

You rock!!!! You are now my new inspiration. I am close to your starting weight, so my journey will also be long. The fact that you could do it and is still doing it, gives me renewed hope and dedication. Thanks for sharing.

This last year was just as much a success for you as the year before. You stuck with it, and didnt give up. That is the very definition of success. Your twenty pounds lighter. There are plenty of people in the world who are now 20 pounds heavier. Congraulations to you!! :)

You are an inspiration! I lost my mother to cancer when I was young, so I started to gain weight around the age of ten due to depression eating. I kept telling myself that it was okay that I was big, because I had had a tough childhood, but when I looked at myself in the mirror, I knew that I was just making excuses. Finally, at the age of 26, I realized that I needed to start caring about my health. I have only lost seven pounds so far, but in my eyes, I have made huge strides. I have completely turned around my life, not just health-wise. Keep doing what you're doing! You make me want to work harder.
