If the calories/fat/protein/carbs fit into your schedule then go for it. As long as you get your numbers throughout the day it will be ok. Whole food would be better but if you don't have time then this is a decent alternative.0

I am the kind of person that has to eat a meal. But if you can drink your calories and not feel like you are missing something then go for it. They are easy, the cans, to keep in a desk drawer or in a purse so you can just drink as you go.0

I usually have it for breakfast I use the powder and I put a banana and lots of ice I can get it up to 41/2 to 5 cups worth of shake very filling0

Definitely not!!! Why would you want to not eat! I tried it once and it is very non nutritional, and gives bad headaches, Since you have all those kids you should cook healthy meals throughout the day for them and you.0

My niece has been doing the slim fast plan & has lost 60lbs. However, she is not married, without kids, so it made it easier for her. My concern is when you reach you goal & start eating regular food that the weight does not come back on.0

Ok so It does not give me headaches, I have been on it before with huge success, I only want to lose 15 lbs., I use it for the convenience, and by the way I do cook healthy meals for my children and husband...that is what I have for dinner....I KNOW how to eat right and healthy....and was just trying to get a feel of what everyone else thinks about the slimfast plan0 -
I did some research on Slim Fast a while back and am still trying to find where I put what I found. However, the summary of what I found is that Slim Fast is not nutrition. It is fillers and sugar that trick your body into feeling full so that you do not eat. This is not, in my opinion, the way to take care of our bodies. We need nutrition, not tricks, for the benefits to be long lasting. It is cheap because of the ingredients. I drink a shake every day for breakfast that is full of nutrition and has numerous benefits, so when it comes to drinking shakes, I am not only no opposed to it, I do it myself. However, I researched the nutrition in it and have reaped the benefits. For example. I have lost weight, I no longer have IBS, my blood sugar stays stable (I have hypoglycemia) and, while I do not have a cholesterol problem, my husband did. Since drinking our shakes, he no longer needs Lipitor. You won't get those benefits from Slim Fast for sure.0

This is what I am thinking. If your body doesn't get the nutrient it needs, it goes into starvation mode, and once you start getting back on your regular diet, the weight will come back.0 -

I agree hun! I'm drinking Slim Fast for breakfast and then the rest of my meals I do cook. But if that's what fits and works best for you then DO IT! Otherwise all the healthy cooking in the world means nothing if you never get a chance to make it. (and with 9 kiddos...wow.) Good luck!0 -
it would be better to find a quality ready to drink protein shake.....slim fast is full of sugar....go with muscle milk light or even lean protein...the will offer the same convenience without all the sugar....many of the slim fast and special k products are high in sugar....0

I think slimfast has a lot of sugar. I try to stay under 15 grams a day and it has helped me with my last ten pound weight loss. I drink EAS AdvanEdge Carb Control instead. It is ready to drink with 17 grams of protein, only 2 carbs and 0 sugars! Not sure about the cost comparison, but maybe you would like it too!?0

yup....that is another quality RTD (ready to drink) shake!0

SMOOTHIE! So much healthier, with zero additives/chemicals/scary things and you can change up the taste everyday if you want for something different.
On a sidebar, you're modeling eating habits for 9 children! If you want them to see you as a positive role model, you need to include what you eat in there too!0 -
