my stats
41yrs old
249.4 weight this morning
5'7"

calorie Requirements projected weight loss

BMR- 1857 1.6# per week
TDEE- 3203 6.4# per month
Calories based on goal 6- 2402 83.3# per year

when I put my numbers in the Scooby workshop this is what I came up with. Is 2402 really the number I should eat if I am working out 6 days a week for an hour at a time doing both cardio and strength and want a 25% deficit? This seems like a absurd amount of calories for trying to loose.

Not necesarily. I'm in maintenance at 2,140 but I don't exercise nearly as much as you. I'm 53 and 5'9".

was really hoping to have a few more people that could tell me if this was right
  • I see where the numbers come from, but when you look at the difference in intake between sedentary and 5-6 times per week strenuous exercise those are pretty high burns it is expecting you to have. I would either use the sedentary setting and eat back 50% of my exercise calories or go for the 3-5 times per week moderate exercise and see how my losses looked. Once you get some data you can adjust the calories up or down based on what is happening for you.
